To be fair, Bortles and the offense had multiple 3-and-outs. It's hard to stop Brady when you're gassed and your offense can't help you out.
injuries really ruined the nfl this year. woulda been dope to see carson wentz vs. brady in the super bowl but now we get to see belicheck and the evil empire dominate a backup qb. nothing interesting about the super bowl this year.
it's funny, people talk about the pats' run being so amazing because the nfl is all about parity. it's the exact opposite. in a league where parity is enforced, there is no match for a great qb + great coach. around the league almost every great qb guarantees a good to great offense for a decade plus. and guys like rodgers and brees and others have given their teams great O's year in and year out like brady. what most of them don't have is a coach who locks you down on D and handles all game situations perfectly. in a league where accumulating great talent is very difficult because of all the parity rules, the pats are pretty much guaranteed to be better than anyone they face year after year. nba teams kind of rise and fall because the things that usually lead to titles (accumulating tons of expensive veteran talent) usually wear off and you fall back to the pack. and those are necessary because not having them pretty much guarantees you can't win. but if all 30 teams only ranged from 30 to 50 win talent, a superstar and a steady approach that keeps you near that 50 win total every year would be the way to go and a lebron or durant or harden team could compete forever with a rotating cast of role players. give them a good coach and they might be unbeatable like the pats. now is it a little embarrassing for all the other coaches and players that the pats didn't win for like 11 years and now they're letting a 40 year old brady run **** on them with 3 more super bowls? sure. and is it embarrassing that seemingly no coach ever has the balls to make big calls like belichick? sure, but the pats would win a lot regardless since there is no possibility for other great teams.
#ColdTakesExposed Man, I am shocked. Jags suddenly got hit with some injuries... and QB matters. Again. Don't think I've ever seen Belichick so happy. Congrats to the Jags. Coughlin/Marrone changed the culture there.
i guess in terms of accomplishments. brady is certainly clutch. but i feel like those other 4 would have been the same no matter what situation, what coaching they were given. hard to say with how good belichick is.
coaching and general manger decisions in the nfl is so terrible rn. all the non-patriots afc east teams hasn't had a franchise qb in FOREVER. teams drafting 28 year old brandon weeden in the first round. not running the ball on the 1 yard line in the super bowl. it's just comical
Because the Pats are the best team in football history. Just appreciate it. Likely we never see anything like this for decades if ever.
I’ll be happy when this garbage is over. They cheat. They find loopholes, they have classless players and support a bigot. Nothing of value will be lost
of course no penalties on the patriots. patriots get away with holding more than any team in the league. their offensive line isn't that good.
No question Belichick who may be the best coach in NFL history helped Brady's legacy tremendously. But you have to give credit to Brady. That's a 40 year-old man at the peak of his greatness. Did anyone doubt that he was coming back to win this game down 10 in the 4th quarter against arguably the best defense in the NFL?
and some of ya'll still think the SB isn't predetermined. Owners get rewarded for advancing the league, Kraft is getting even more championships after he signed a huge TV deal with CBS a few years back, and the Vikings owner is getting rewarded for building another stadium with taxpayer dollars. The Atlanta Falcons owner said that the SB is predetermined, thats about as straight from the horse's mouth as you can get. Remember, the NFL is legally classified as "entertainment", not a governing committee over a sport like NCAA or MLB, they can fix games for "entertainment purposes" legally.
The Pats are now 13-1 in their last 14 games. They have lost one game since mid October. The Texans were 2-10 during that same span.
