Overloaded with bad contracts and untradable assets, the Charlotte Hornets have made All-Star point guard Kemba Walker available in trade discussions, league sources told ESPN. Charlotte has been encouraging teams to make offers and appear eager to discuss attaching Walker to a larger trade where another team takes on one of the Hornets' several far less desirable contracts, sources said. Ultimately, Charlotte knows that trading Walker in any deal would be a reset for the franchise. The Hornets had already made available Nicolas Batum (four years, $100 million), Dwight Howard (two years, $47 million), Marvin Williams (three years, $42 million) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (three years, $39 million), league sources said, but those players and their contracts are largely unattractive in the marketplace. Walker, a 2017 Eastern Conference All-Star selection, is averaging 21.7 points on 42 percent shooting and 5.8 assists per game. He was Charlotte's first-round pick in the 2011 NBA draft. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22152521/charlotte-hornets-open-trading-kemba-walker
Knicks should be a possible destination Kemba is a NY product, and the Knicks have 1 of the sorriest guard rotations in the league Kemba could push them into the playoffs Idk about them taking 1 of Charlotte’s bad contracts tho...
This is one of the few times the knicks make sense. I could see him going to SAS to upgrade their disappointing guard rotation, but I don't know if the spurs are willing to take back an albatross contract seeing that they already lost money last year.
lol, I was thinking something like Courtney Lee, Willy Hernangomez, and their pick for Kemba straight up Kemba Timmy Thomas KP Kanter that should be able to make the playoffs in the East
Watch out for the F'n Spurs. It makes a lot of sense if they have the assets that Charlotte wants. I mean, I don't think they do, but teams like Charlotte are prone to do silly things...
I posted in Rockets Trade thread but I'd rather have Marvin Williams instead of Ryan Anderson but you would need a 3rd team.
Another year, another team where Dwight plays which goes into ****. Spoiler Not that this is on him, but still, can't believe they're so bad Batum btw, if healty would be amazing here, too bad i don't trust him a bit at this point.
I am sure the Rockets are having talks centered around Ryan Anderson and others. Marvin Williams, Michael Kidd, Batum and Zeller all are possible fits. The Hornets have the bad contracts to match up with the Rockets.
Spurs have one of the best GMs, I'm sure he could get this done if the Hornets are willing to deal with them. They were almost close to getting Irving. It's also just like the NBA for a middling Eastern Conference team to send its best player to another Western Conference playoff team for _____ and giggles.
I agree, the Spurs can get Walker if they are willing to take on a contract like Zeller or Batum. It all comes down to whether or not the Spurs believe they can get enough out of those players to make it worth losing cap space.
