Have a friend who's mother lives there. She sent out a FB post after she received a freaked out text by her mother asking if anyone had heard anything. He mother was actually calling all of her family to say goodbye. I have to imagine everyone was scared s***less.

The only comparable thing I can think of is being on an airplane as it plunges from 30+K feet (assuming you're still conscious). You have a few minutes, just all of the sudden out of nowhere, to think back on your life, your family/friends, and come to grips that you are most likely about to die.

From what I understand, somebody in the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency hit the wrong ****ing button. Haven't heard anything more about safeguards, 2nd man confirmation, or anything.
