And as I understand it, prior to THIS he had only missed 1 game his whole career? In spite of ankle sprains and thigh contusions, etc. . . and with all of the drives and contact he gets. Sounds like a gamer to me
I can't help but wonder who are these individuals who talk about Harden being "too ghetto". Not personally, just in general. The ghetto thing reinforces a point that Codman made a few weeks back about perception of Harden. I think he indicated how a lot of people see Harden, the dark-skinned black man, as opposed to Harden the great player who happens to be black like most of the NBA. "Too ghetto". Maybe he should have been singing along to the white-boy song in the State Farm commercial rather than reacting to Ariza's awful voice.
It's obvious Harden will play limited minutes against the Wolves to prepare for the Warriors game. I don't think he wants to miss that game.
I don’t want them to rush harden back I’d give him another week after the 2 week window. U don’t want to reagrivate an injury. Minimum of 3 weeks. DONT RUSH HIM BACK
The recommended time to return to play with a PRP injection is 10 days, which was today. Coincides perfectly with the video today of Harden shooting around. As long as he doesn't play against the Suns the next time he could go would be against the Clippers at 16 days from the injury. If he doesn't play against the Clippers then the Wolves game would be at 19 days since the injury. If he doesn't play against the Wolves then the Warriors game would be at 21 days since the injury which is the recommended recovery time WITHOUT PRP injection. So anytime after today he would be ok to return based on the PRP injection timeline. Considering we already saw him shooting around I would say he probably needs 2 days of full speed drills/practice with a rest day in between MINIMUM so this would mean around the 15th we will get some sort of conclusive update which coincides perfectly with the 2 week reevaluation timeline.
You keep saying this, but aren't PRP injection recommended for all Grade 2 tears? And they don't all have the same recovery time. Shooting is nothing compared to the exercises the trainers are making Harden do. Seeing him shoot doesn't mean much. Until he is cleared for practice, he won't even be one week away. That Kelley Iko guy seems to like to confuse the fans with his penchant for taking any info and tweeting out the earliest returns ahead of anyone else. I think he knows if he tweets the earliest times over any other media who is following the Rockets, then he'll get noticed. Well, I've noticed he's been wrong about Paul, about Moute and now Harden. Will others notice?
From what I’ve read and gathered from talking with friends in the medical field, PRP is still considered experimental and the only people using it for applications like this are pro athletes because medical consensus is that the long term prognosis is not much different between PRP and traditional RICE healing method. Based on what data is out there for PRP in this type of application, 10 days is already on the conservative end of the recovery process. Football players are using this PRP application to return from lower end grade 2 tears to play the next week; possibly with a PED as well. Not sure what grade Lillard’s hamstring injury was but he didn’t get PRP treatment on it and it lingered.
Harden is a freak of nature This guys rolls his ankle and is back minutes later. These are the same type of ankle turns that’s have cost curry 50+ games of his career. Curry missed a month already this season on an ankle turn, harden turned his ankle just as bad and didn’t even come out the game. I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist but JH must be on HGH or an alien. Sounds like he’s ready to come back from a grade 2 injury in 10 days?!?? Wtf this guy is not normal.
You realise that everyone heals at different rates to injuries right? Harden seems to be remarkably durable (touch wood) and fares better than say Curry or anthony Davis.
