I disagree. I would much rather choose facing thunder over a healthy spurs team if I had to bet. Are you a closet westbrook fan? You’ve made posts in support of westbrook mvp and thunder as a scary team for a while now.
LOL how is this even a question? If the Thunder manage to make the playoffs, of course that's the team you want to face because it would essentially be a bye.
Good thing this argument is pointless because the way OKC has been playing this month, it probably means they'll be facing the Spurs or at best the Wolves in the playoffs in rd1. Don't see them getting past either team.
Thunder have a Big 4, one is reigning MVP three of them future HoFers and a top center in Adams. Spurs have a former superstar in noticeable decline in Leonard due to injuries, aging Alridge, a bunch of nobodies and a bunch of vets on the verge of retirement (Ginoboli, Gasol, etc) If I had to bet my house on it, I'd rather face Spurs.
In theory they have a "big 4" but one of them is the most selfish player in the NBA who always makes his teammates worse so they'll be lucky to make the playoffs. As it stands, they have a pretty good chance at imploding completely because no one wants to play with Westbrick. The Thunder would be smart to get what they can for Melo and George before they walk in the offseason.....or even worse, before they get stuck with Melo coming back. Give me Leonard over Westbrick, LMA over George, Rudy Gay essentially is a younger Melo, and I'm not too concerned about Steven Anderson, if anything old man Pau is a worse matchup for the Rockets because he can shoot and pull Capela away from the basket. I just don't see how anyone would fear the Thunder if they had seen them at any point this season.
I'm not saying you're an idiot if you would rather face the Spurs. Because that wouldn't be a nice thing to say.
Who is the big 4? are we including Ad Kawhi has had one injury and he will be healthy by playoff time. Spurs are just doing Spurs things and resting him and giving him time to recover. He’s only 26 I would not say he’s on the decline. And the Spurs have Poppovich. Give me the Thunder
My take is, the thunder are this years version of rockets yesteryears; they have a punchers chance, meaning about 20% if they are hot. I do not believe the spurs have more than a 1% chance. I say that, because we are head and shoulders above everyone not named Golden State, but any team can beat you. That being said, naw, I don’t fear any team but the warriors, and ourselves.
