Outside of Ryan Anderson our worst contract has to be Nene, who is signed for three years, all of which have guaranteed money, and the guy can barely see past his dreads. If the owner wouldn't mind just doing away with that contract and picking up Andrew Bogut instead that would be much appreciated. Unlike D'Antoni, who prefers a rotation of five guards, I still firmly believe in using a Power Forward and Center.
I think Anderson-Tucker at the PF spot is a significantly bigger problem than Capela-Nene-Black at the C. That's just me though.
waive black, sign bogut vet minimum problem solve, we gonna have a moving screen maestro on our team yeah!!
Didn't we have a roster spot open? Or am I completely wrong. Always wanted a dirty player here to see how it works out.
You mean illegal screens and passing maestro from the C position. I must be dreaming. He rejected us over the ponies and on other team if i remember. Well as long as he doesn't get injured tho
I'm pretty sure they're just being super conservative with him to ensure he is healthy for the playoffs. His absence was a big reason we lost to San Antonio. With all the health issues of Capela and NeNe, and Black's mediocre performance thus far this season, I think Bogut would have a lot to offer this team. Question is can we afford a roster spot? We already cut the fattiest of the meat in Bobby Brown. Could we send Joe Cheese to the G League and use the roster spot on Bogut?
SEASON HOUSTON ROCKETS 2017/18 $3,477,600 2018/19 $3,651,480 2019/20 $4,825,360 I think we will live. . . . Rocket River
Nene's contract is not bad by any stretch, that dude is crazy explosive for a 35 year old on offense and I expect him to be effective this and next season as well if he can stay healthy. He can retire if he has a career ending injury, we can always waive and stretch him after this season as well if things don't go well, which would make his cap hold as cheap as a min contract damn near. Anyways, we could sign Bogut without dropping Nene. Bogut would be an awesome pickup, but the dude has bad blood with Houston and it's always showed, He will probably sign with the Celtics or Spurs because he simply doesn't like our team/players.
Another alternative might be NN for a lottery protected 1st rounder plus Black, though I doubt if Cuban will agree to that.
Oh hi there . . . you must be Nene. Nene seems like a great guy but he is definitely done at the end of this year. I can't see him jogging in 2019. As of today he can't even catch a pick and roll pass and put it in the hoop with any consistency . . . and that's when the pass is from Paul. If you are a Center and can't efficiently roll with Paul to score then I don't know why you're here. We need a rebounder and paint protector, not another guy who can put up 8 points. He would have made a decent duo with Capela but Capela is only averaging mid to late twenties. Far too many spare minutes to be without a rim protectors and rebounder.
Yeah I kinda like Black though. He is similar to Chuck Hayes. Nothing wrong with Black. We need that bigger bodied player. Black also has a great attitude. Paul can walk up to him and say man you should have not fouled and blocked that! And then Black will listen and redeem himself. He doesn't ever get his period you now. Black is actually very good to have. This team needs a Tarik Black. We might as well play in the WNBA without him.
This kind of player always backfires, they go hot in certain games and people are on their arses......blocked shots, illegal screens, tough D. I can see that coming. Meh just my 2 cents.
Remember that Bogut's career as a Cleveland Cavalier lasted 58 seconds before suffering a season-ending injury?
Morey should go after him, definitley. I would not drop Nene though need playoff depth. Got to find a Trade for Ryno! If we can trade Ryno for Mirotic and bring in Bogut we should win a title this year.
Wait, so drop Nene for a guy even more injury prone than he is. Not only that but much less talented & no offensive skill whatsoever. You guys really, REALLY obsess over these foreign players, while seemingly impatient with the non foreign guys. So Andrew Bogut, a player who crapped all over our team a few years back, is now who we need to go get?
