ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Pistons 1/6/2018

We just playing with no effort on defense, no intensity on both ends no motivation whatsoever.

 

The Rockets defense once again does not look good. Teams recently are shooting a high percentage against the Rockets. Bzedelik has some work to do. Rockets getting little offense from the PF position both Tucker and Anderson in a slump. Rockets hardly got to the free throw line tonight at all. Pistons went to the line 27 times whilst the Rockets 11 times (Ball game right there). Teams that play solid defense and don't foul a lot are not likely to send you to the free throw line often if you are shooting mostly threes. With Boban standing under the rim the offense got stagnant once the threes were not falling. With lay ups being difficult and Rockets not getting free throws we needed awesome defense for 48 minutes to win this game. Our in game adjustments are not there. I would really love for our defense to get good again.

 

Well November was fun I guess. Blow it up in the off-season and rebuild around Harden Paul and Capela.

 

We're just having the pre-allstar break slump. We will turn the corner.

 

Hopefully they'll do, I guess having the slump now better than before the playoffs

 

Clearly without harden this team ain't going nowhere.

He was one of the major instigators

 

It was obvious from the get-go that the Pistons were being OVER hyper on defense
and swiping and swatting at everything in the paint. NO CALLS.
We would so much as wave at one of their players and they get a whistle.
There were so many plays with contact when we had the ball and the refs would just swallow their whistles.
THEY were allowed be aggressive on D, but we where whistled if we tried to.

27 FT's to 11 tells the whole story.
Hard to overcome that disparity in numbers with 16 extra FT's.
Say what you want, but the refs dictated a W for Detroit. Plain and simple

 

Getting karate chopped in the wrist constantly for no call does have a way of discouraging drives into the paint.

 

We just got thoroughly stomped by a bad team without their best player. This team is broken right now, straight up. Obviously without Harden offense is going to be a struggle, but the defense seems to be getting worse every game. This was my fear when we hired MDA.

Well... what could we trade for Tobias Harris?

This team is broken. Essentially flawed without harden. For all the nit picking he endures on this forum, can you picknits at least eat some crow now? Harden’s 30 and 10 assists are the absolute rock this team stands on. Everyone but Gordon needs him to work magic to get them a shot.

Gerald Green needs to start above Ariza until he cools off. Ariza needs to be checked a little bit IMO, like bro we love you but if you’re not hitting 3s or making significant defensive plays why are we playing you 35 minutes?

Maybe throw out some more trade talk soon about Anderson. He started out on fire this season because of it. He’s all proved up or what?

For a team that jacks up a few 3s... it sure would help to have a guy who’s best attribute is stroking 3s. Seriously Harris on this team would be outlandish.

 

How the hell do you lose to a team missing Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson on a back to back?That is as bad as it gets.I dont care that we were missing our best player but that is still a really bad loss. We cant be this bad without Harden?

 

Unless we offer them James there is no realistic scenario to get Tobias.

 

Gonna continue to rack up the losses as long as they continue to not care about defense. Simple as that.

 

We always lose min that mess of an arena. Team was probably too cold lol

 

This was a sad loss. The team needs that intensity back.

 

Hard to watch, these games have become. . . .

 

It was bad enough to lose like this, but to top that off I didn't even hit one number on either of my Poweball tickets. Ugh.
