Titans 43 Chiefs 13 ( How are the Titans favored on road, cold, noise, poor coaching, no wr, less talent, the mob is in on this ) Falcons 23 Rams 20 ( Trust 5e Falcons to return to form ) Jaguars 22 Bills 10 ( the Bills, really, ) Panther 28 Saints 24 ( Drew Brees not throwing downfield this year )
Still haven't watched a single NFL game since the announcement of DW's injury. Not sure yet if Wild Card weekend is tempting enough.
KC is favored by 8. Brees is 4th in passing yards (9th in attempts) and leads the league in yards per attempt?
I’d say that Brees ranks are the direct result of a poor quarterback class, and don’t reflect his recent decline. Almost every other stat is down 20% or more. His yards are down 1k, his TD passes are down 15, passes and attempts are down significantly, his qbr is down 10, and his long is only 54 yards this year. He does have a better running game to rely on, and you could make the case he’s throwing less because of that, but he he’s also the benefactor of great receiving backs ( 120 receptions ). And part of that total reflects what I am seeing, and that is that he is checking down this year. I just see a completely different qb out there.
You mention the improve running game but completely discount it at the same time. They don't need him to throw as much when they can control the clock better with a very good running game. Of course that's going to affect his stats. They've made adjustments to the offense because what they were doing clearly hadn't been working the last couple of years. Why not take some of the responsibility for the entire offense off of Brees' back? I'm sure there's some decline in ability due to his age but not nearly what you're making it out to be.
I love how everyone is sleeping on my Aries. Please, don't be surprised if Los Angeles beats Atlanta by at least two touchdowns
Major props to Mariota for that game-closing block and for coming back from the dead in the 2nd half. Of course, it helps to have Andy "chokemaster" Reid on the other sideline. Another mind-blowing collapse by the Chiefs in the playoffs.
From Super Bowl champs week one to losers in the wild card round. Chiefs are 1-10 in their last 11 playoff games. (I think the only win was 30-0 over the Texans) Goodbye Alex Smith, hello Pat Mahomes!
If they want to win a Super Bowl, I don't think Andy Reid is the right guy to lead them to it. - Rodney Harrison
I would too. But 3 years from now , we'll be calling for his head... cause he won't get to the Super Bowl
What I saw was actually a Titans offense, that when in the no huddle, can compete with anyone. Mularkey should have seen this two weeks ago, but if he did come around, this offense supports both Henry and Mariota's skills, and opens up the offense for Davis. The Titans took this game. Mariota blocked, ran, received, and threw, lol. Put him at linebacker.
Reid is very overrated. His teams always collapse hard in big moments. He makes super head scratching decisions. While I’m not a fan of BOB I don’t think Reid is an upgrade.
