So much for the GOP being able to preach about "States Rights".

I don't understand how you can still be in favor of harsh crackdowns against mar1juana. There is no conservative, liberty-based argument that justifies it.

California legalized it. California assured that Clinton would win the popular vote.

All blue states should legalize, just to stick it to Trump. Reduce SALT and tax MJ to make up for the tax reform.

People shouldn't be surprised. This is the sort of thing that should be expected in an administration that is filled with incompetent far-right extremists. Simply look at the record in other areas in a few short months. One after another, trump's campaign promises are being broken. This is one of them.

How they can find the time to dismantle things like the EPA, or slash basic scientific research funded by the government by 10% (across the board), is a mystery when there are unprecedented numbers of unfilled positions across the entire federal government, . Those cuts include federal funding for cyber and artificial intelligence research, an area the Russians and Chinese are focusing on. Research in a field where we have had a history of leading the world. That lead is under serious threat in an increasingly interconnected, vulnerable society. Cutting that funding is the act of a dysfunctional, reckless government that hasn't a clue about what it wants to do, aside from destroying anything that has come before. We should be increasing funding across the board, with extra funds for areas deemed critical to national security, in my opinion.

The clowns are running the circus.

Eventually I would expect some serious blow back on this issue from liberals and conservatives alike and when it happens, I expect them to change course. There's just no justification for this policy.

Doesn't matter... all that matters is that the laws were loosened under Obama, so they have to be reversed. But trump will probably negotiate... no pot crackdown if the walls are built. He will get those damn walls built one way or another.

There are quite a few Republican lawmakers/voters in mar1juana legal states that are going to throw an absolute fit if their multi-billion dollar cash cow is jeopardized.

$ do talk. Otherwise, I wouldn't bet on public outcry to change course. It's not legal in TX and many other states. We have strong public support for NN and yet the FCC struck it down.
