Maybe...remember he went into the league straight out high school, at this point I don't think his bb iq is low, the dude is a veteran at this point at the age of 31.
He might try harder to fit into a system now that he's had a few months at home, wondering if the gravy train has left the station for good. Second (third? fourth?) chances don't come often in the NBA. So far, it looks like he's serious about making the most of this one.
Let's be honest this is the first really good team Gerald Green has really played for. I know he was in Boston last year and they def had a fantastic season but as good as brad Stevens is, and believe me I think he's hands down the best young coach in the game and will in all likelyhood be the best coach once pop retires. But He's no MDA when it comes to getting giys like Green to play at a high level on the offensive end. He really puts these guys in great spots to succeed and keep it simple. Playing off cp3 and Harden doesn't hurt either. Green can shoot he can rebound he runs the floor well and is a great finisher abover the rim. Defensively I think he'll actually be an asset for us because we like to switch ands he's got the size length and athletism to really excel. Only thing I hate is him dribbling. He had 4 TOs tonight and that's way to many for a guy who's not a PG. hell thats a lot for anyone unless there name is harden or Lebron. Green was a fantastic pick up you can never have to many wings who can shoot. That's why even golden state signed swaggy p. Green won't shoot 59% on threes for the season but he should be able to hit 40% with the quality of looks he'll be getting in this offense.
I'm guessing you mean Elfrid Peyton. Yeah, his hair man... it's one of the wonders of the NBA. Sometimes when he shoots jumpshots he hits his "bangs" with the ball. That would drive me nuts.
Ryan Anderson has 1 game with 7 made 3 pointers this season. He’s played 34 games. Gerald Green has just done it and he’s played 3 games after being on the street.
The young man determination is to the roof right now. Hopefully he sustains it for the remainder of the season and in the playoffs. There's something about playing for your home town.
Green is the wing version of Michael Beasley. Not the smartest kind of player but definitely has the talent to put the ball in the hoop.
GG has literally been a godsend at the perfect time--Harden down, Gordon in a semi-funk, and Luc out. He gives our bench some much needed instance offense, hustle and athleticism. He's started incredibly well and here's hoping he keeps it up for at least 2-4 more weeks. With Paul and Gordon both off tonight, his sizzle made the difference... dude was ballin! I frankly don't mind 4 turnovers, when a guy puts in a super efficient 27 points in only 28 minutes.
Enjoy Green for one more week until Luc returns and then he becomes a spot player in blowouts. Hopefully he doesn’t get cut to make room for Luc.
I was actually at this one Rockets game in New Jersey when Gerald Green played for them and did this:
