. I am too old to be in his demo. Any of you millenials watch him? Thoughts on him filming a corpse of someone who committed suicide?
I heard Logan Paul's name being thrown around recently but hadn't heard the specifics of why. So I watched the video on the TMZ link and that does seem disrespectful to me. It shouldn't be posted in the first place, but it seemed like he/they were trying to share a good message... but then the laughs and a few other things just felt inappropriate. I don't know enough about his history to know if he's hated or what.
Ive seen some of his daily vlogs and this guy is really high energy and never turns it off. Ala Robin Williams. So the laughter is the way he deals with the awkwardness (Coping Mechanism). That aside showing the body in the video was really inappropriate. He had time to cut out the footage during the editing process. He could have went about it a different way.
I don't know the guy and didn't see the video, but based off of what I've heard about him, it seems like he was laboring under the Trump-esque assumption that any press is good press. Views are views, man. His apology did not seem sincere, at all, to me. Kid apparently thinks he's more important than his is. He's millennial entitled. Those are my two cents after investing far too little time in this to have an opinion.
I don't know anything about Logan Paul, but it isn't the same when they report the news with dead victims in the picture? This to me seemed like a genuine moment. Someone killed themselves they discovered and it's tragic.
I've heard his name being thrown around for this recent video, but only just now watched the TMZ version. It doesn't seem as bad as people make it out to be.
You have to know his history. Many youtube personalities tolerate him. He is all about the clicks. His shtick is to create controversy to drive his view count. Mainstream is making this out to be an isolated thing, but he has been doing stuff like this for a while. YouTube community has been bemoaning his antics for a long time.
I've been following his stuff for a while and he seems to be a nice, goofy guy who is just always trying to be the class clown and be funny. Sometimes stuff like this happens when you try too hard to be funny and you do something insensitive, but he is not a bad person. I like him, he apologized, let's move on and not crucify the guy.
They didn't find it, they went looking for it in a place known for suicides. They rarely show the actual corpse in the news. He was trying to exploit this body he found for clicks, and while not criminal it is in extremely poor taste.
I don't want it to look like i'm defending the guy cause you could be right in the judgment of his character, but according to the video they just stumbled upon it while exploring the "ghostlyness" of the woods. Also, rarely do they show corpses seems to fit his same scenario.
I still don't understand how 'youtube personalities' are even a thing. Why oh why are people watching these videos? And when? When they're at home? They log on to just watch these? I just don't get it, man. Apologies for sounding so out of it and being too lazy to just post that Clint Eastwood being disgusted gif from Gran Torino, rather than writing all these stupid words.
I really push to be accepting of new trends... or at the very least tolerant of what "the kids" are in to these days. I'm not going to hate on Logan Paul because I have never watched his stuff before and, like most media content, it's so easily avoidable that it may as well not exist to me. That being said @Haymitch, I feel the same way... who makes these videos, why are they famous, and who watches/enjoys them? I honestly don't understand it. Oh yeah, get off my lawn!
Normally, I'm sensitive to issues like this but when you have one jackass offing himself in a very public manner, I have no problem with another jackass coming along and making fun of him. I have no interest in watching this guy's Youtube channel, but I'm not going to hate on him for making his millions.
Done is done, but I find it even more disturbing is fellow popular youtubers jumping on him to get views.
