Lol the rockets needed him to play mvp level n frantic pace every night just to have a chance to win Act like hes some dumb stat padding westbrook Harden is a win/seed machine unless you can prove other wise
The difference between Pop and Mike is that Pop sees the long term view and Mike doesn't. I get that it's important to get a good seed for the playoffs and try to secure HCA, but it shouldn't come at the expense of overplaying players. My position in all of this is that I blame Morey for his lack of bringing other veterans to this team that Mike can trust. Mike is also to blame, but his reputation has always been what it is, so Morey should have done a better job getting backcourt help.
It's easy to draft in hindsight ... And GS is a wonderful situation to be drafted into because you get PT to develop ( because they rest their players ) Who knows how good any of those guys would be if the rockets drafted them . Who knows how good our guys would be if the Warriors drafted them . We've developed a few players well , but certainly lag in that area right now . If you seriously think that Morey isn't doing his job because he's busy bragging on Twitter I dunno what to say to that .
It's a relationship . The coach should be expected to bend a little the GM should be expected to get a little for the coach . Morey brought in vets . PJ , Luc , Black , Cp3 ... Mike has got to work with the roster he has . You can't have 15 deep of vets willing to sit until they have to step up for injury . Also **** Bobby brown . Or **** MDA for not playing him . He's a vet . He's a guard . If you can't trust him , cut him . Harden doesn't wield THAT much power.
Literally only 2 teams do that and they are widely regarded as the best front offices / coaching staffs in the league . If it's not rocket science then 28 other teams are plain r****ded. It's not easy to do . And for it to work , you have to have a coach that's willing to put the time and faith into the developmental guys . We don't have that . Hence I blame MDA way more than Morey .
Bobby does not belong in the NBA, only reason he even has a job is because if James. The fact that Mike tried everybody before he even gave Bobby a shot says a whole lot.
Agreed, Pop would tell Harden to sit his ass and shut up, and Harden would listen to him. And i agree here too. MDA like Thibodeau is famous for playing short rotations, there's really nothing new here. Last season he played Trez simply cause he was forced to do it, and until he was doing ok. Just look at Weber, as soon as he made a mistake (i think it was a forced shot, or maybe a turnover, can't remember now) against Boston he took him out of the game and "see ya next year". I might be wrong but i think that's not how you develop young players.
Shouldn't have been left up to him in the first place. I put this really on the organization. Other elite organizations/coaching staffs don't run their franchise players in the ground. This is a hard lesson for the organization but I hope some good comes from it.
A few stories from the end of last season... https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...n-houston-rockets-rest-days-nba-mvp/96670962/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...vp-pursuit-houston-rockets-quandary/99902638/
You guys are some whiny asses. Injuries happen. just hope Harden fully heals and comes back fresh. Teams that peak in December/January don't win championships. R-E-L-A-X
If morey knew that mda not known to develop players, then why did he keep on drafting projects than college proven more nba ready players Harden fell on morey's Lap Dwight came to join harden Cp3 came to join harden Tucker n lma came to cp3 Moreys only job was basically to just draft nba ready guys who. Can give solid minutes. Off.the bench
Yes I know Harden has refused to rest and the organization has allowed him to keep playing on and not get any rest. Sometimes the organization has to save the players from themselves. MDA as others have expressed has a rep of running players in the ground with short rotations as well.
"It's not a quick return at all," said Dr. Walter Lowe, the Texans team physician who also works with the Rockets but has not examined Harden. "We use PRP these days, that's platelet rich plasma. You spin down blood, take platelets that have a bunch of healing factors in them. We use drugs orally that prevent fibrosis and scarring and all of that helps a lot. But the fast ones are two to three weeks and the slow ones of the Grade 2s are four to six weeks. "Basketball is a tough one to come back from because you do nothing but run non-stop. Hamstrings are just so variable from guy to guy, you get the best read about a week into it as far as what the time frame will be."
