    1. Apparently, the guy has already been arrested (and convicted?) for similar acts before. So whatever we think is gonna happen to him in prison most likely already happened to him.

    2. I have more sympathy for the police officer who pulled the trigger than this guy, or even the guy who gave the false address. The police officer was trigger-happy, but at least he had the excuse of being put into what he thought was a dangerous situation for himself and others around him. These two guys had no excuse-- they were messing around with an online argument putting other people in danger.

    3. This situation reminds me of the Pizzagate conspiracists-- making up stories about how some non-existent crime and putting the lives of people they spread rumors about in danger.

He shot a man from across the street with an assault rifle while hiding behind a car. Neither he or his fellow LEO's were in any immediate danger when the man walked out the door. He HAS to be prosecuted for this. Anything less is a severe miscarriage of justice. It would be hard to convict him of murder because of the circumstances though, but he still killed an innocent man because of his reckless behavior. A couple of things:

    1) The swatter said it was a single-story home. The police arrived at the address of a 2 story home. There is a very real possibility that the police were given the wrong address, and it is their job to verify the circumstances of the potential hostage situation BEFORE doing ANYTHING else. Arriving at a double story home is a huge red flag, but he shot anyway.

    2) He didn't get a great description of the suspect based on the phone call and the information relayed by the operator, so shooting before asking any questions is incredibly negligent on his part. Had it been a hostage situation, there's a possibility he shot an innocent hostage to death before verifying if there was any threat in the first place.

Swatter should die in prison. The person who asked the swatter to make the call should go to prison. The person providing the fake address should go to prison. The cop should spend a lot of time in prison.

Maybe the person telling the fake address can have a bit of weight on their conscience and feel guilty, but that person is in no way legally accountable for the actions of this lunatic and the police officer pulling the trigger.

It this were a case . .. then If someone looked up 777 9311 and then did something
that band would be on the hook for it?

Some unknown person asking my address. . . yea
I am giving him a fake one
Ask any woman . . they give out fake numbers and addresses all the time . .. FOR PROTECTION

While they might feel guilty . . . . .I don't think jail time or any punishment is warrented

I have same question. Only I don't play the video games. I do the pornhub a lot. Is it possible for them to swat me while you know? Doing taxes in my pants?
