I think the Liquor ban on Sundays is stupid. What is the point of this? Can't they at least remove it on New Years eve?

Watch DUI numbers increase this year due to this. We have a poor public transportation and taxis/ubers are going to be packed.

I guess bars will do better because I am sure some people forgot to stock up and when their party realizes there are no drinks, they will have no choice but to go to a bar.

Don't the vast majority of Texans know there are no liquor sales on Sunday? Shouldn't they have prepared?

Its only been a law in existence for over 50+ years.... guess some are still figuring it out.

And you can still get beer/wine/champagne... just can’t get it before noon.

Texans certainly have their mind blown when they realize that grocery stores and pharmacies in the north carry hard liquor.

The law is stupid, but you should have realized the law exists and you should have prepared for it.
Same for the non-liquor alcohol before noon rule.

But yeah. The law is incredibly stupid and pointless.

If you can't prepare that far, I guess a dd or uber is out of the drunken equation.

It's the liquor stores who lobby to keep the Sunday law in place, so go yell at your local Specs manager.

Only prevented from buying liquor before noon on Sunday's in Harris county. Do surrounding county's have different laws on Sunday?

No way, state wide. More proof that NYE is complete amateur hour, real drinkers see that months out and got stocked up Saturday night..

Good ole Texas Blue Laws!!! Woooo no liquor or buying cars on Sunday!!! I think dealerships can now pick Saturday or Sunday (of when to be closed), but they suck.

It's crazy, it used to be worse, slowly getting repealed but I'm thinking liquor stores don't want further repeals since it would possibly open the door for buying hard liquor at your regular grocery store/gas station (I'm assuming). Definitely not church related :)

No worries! Haha, yeah it just sucks if you weren't prepared and needed hard liquor but most people probably bought in already :) And Obviously the bar is still an option.

It was certainly jarring when I walked into a Walgreen's for the first time after moving to the Midwest and found a liquor aisle.

And if that fails, DMT is comparable and relaxing.
