You def missed it . The bad part ( for me ) is I don't even remember the original joke anymore . I just know that evacuating to Katy is a thing .
"I live in Katy, should I evacuate?" first appeared in the comments section of the Houston Chronicle and eventually leaked over to this BBS. It is now canonized as a Houston meme.
Spoiler: To Katy, or not to Katy? SCIGUY To Katy, or not to Katy? By Eric Berger on August 26, 2009 at 4:07 PM Last year, when I began holding chats during hurricane season, probably the most frequent question I received was, “Should I evacuate from Katy?” It’s a fair question when storms threaten, but the answer is a pretty simple no. There’s no risk of storm surge and the area is about as far inland as one can get in Harris County. Readers from other areas — such as Galveston and Clear Lake — tired of the question and began piling on people from Katy. Since then, it’s been a popular meme on this blog to crack a Katy joke, even on non-hurricane blog entries. I admit there are times when I find the joke to have gotten old. But then, along comes a poo haiku contest, and suddenly the Katy joke seems relevant again. (See the brilliant haiku by MichaelG). Lots of readers seem to agree. Nevertheless, during my most recent blog entry on Tropical Storm Danny, some readers expressed frustration with the Katy jokes in the comments. The last thing I want to do is run off readers or appear to insult the fine people from the land of Katy. Until now I have let the Katy jokes run their course. They’re clearly not written with malice, and I’m always inclined against censoring any comment. Finally, the Katy jokes are, after all, something that this blog is identified with. Should I kill a popular meme? My policy, therefore, has been only to limit use of Katy jokes when a significant storm threatens Houston. At that time I feel the humor would be crass. Nevertheless, I’m curious about whether readers are really put off by the jokes. If so, I’m willing to change the policy. So here’s your chance to vote on the question and have a say in the comments below.
Spoiler: a story of two cats Ohagi(f) is just mindlessly resting and not exactly looking at Genki(m) who's staring at the wall. Not until he self-consciously looked over at her.
It means you really need to pay attention in class. Your parents are going to be very upset if you have to take the 8th grade again.
