It has become the Harden-Gordon circus. They are playing hero ball and it isn't working. I blame the coach for allowing it to continue. Ariza and Anderson were 5 of 10 from behind the arc and yet the 2 ball hogs took 29 3 pt shots and only made 9, even when there were plenty of opportunities to pass to Ariza and Anderson. I'm tired of the Gordon Harden show. What happened to team ball? What happened to smart ball? What happened to our defense? Is this the only game plan when Clint and Chris are on the bench? We are doomed with either of them hurt in the playoffs, because all we have left is a hot mess of sloppy lazy ball and no defense.

Gordon moves off the that’s the difference. He has his ISO’s but he’s constantly moving. On a couple of those last sequences harden wasn’t even on the screen.

Look, this team has gaps. The thing that gives me hope is Morey - he engineered a trade at the deadline last year that literally made the difference in the season. I'm sure he realizes just as we do that this team is way too dependent on hero ball and needs an added scorer. Ryno has taken a step back this season, and I think he'll be the candidate that DM is going to look to move, but his salary of course will make things difficult, though we'll see what happens. I guess we'll see what happens during the trade deadline, but I think its pretty clear we wont just stand pat with things as-is.

When CP3 comes back I don't want anyone else ever handling the ball when he is on the court. Force Harden to play off ball or bench him.

The step back threes have been falling overall, but objectively that is a TERRIBLE shot and he is relying on it way too much.

As for Eric Gordon. He's going to be strictly off ball when CP3 comes back anyway.

Seriously, without Capela or a decent pick and roll guy the Rockets look like very undynamic team. Just hero ball guys that either drive to fumble the ball or take a bad three. LOL

When he takes 77 shots in our 4 losses and only scores 85 points, then no, I won't stop calling it stupid hero ball instead of smart team ball.

I'm with you OP. I hate it when someone ball-hogs their way to
    1. 51 points on 27 shots shooting 56% and 4-6 from 3 in a loss
    2. 51 points on 28 shots shooting 54% and 6-14 (43%) from three in a loss
    3. and caps it off with a third loss with 14 assists on 1 turnover
And then you have Gordon shooting 14-31 from three in those three losses at 45%. I mean, he needs to do what he's paid to do.

Those first three losses were a disgusting display of ball-hogging. just turrible

Well, we got rid of a lot of players to get CP3. I sure hope it was worth the risk, with his injury history. It's not looking good without him. We could have used Dekker and Trez tonight when Nene was resting. With CP3 and Clint we can win it all. Without them we don't stand a chance. We need their defense, and the ball movement that comes when they are in the game.

The ball hogging equals losses. All the shots don't mean squat when you are too lazy to move on defense and get careless with the ball or by making stupid fouls. Harden gets too flustered when he isn't getting the calls and his immaturity prevails.

It's easy to ball hog when you have a 20mil player in Ryan Anderson passing up open shots because he hesitates. He could've easily had another 5 open attempts this game in the 1st half alone but instead he hesitates to shoot it sometimes for god knows why and the defender closes out on him resulting in him passing it back to Harden and forcing Harden to create with a couple seconds left on the clock. Many of his TOs were indirectly because of Anderson being afraid to shoot it.

Rockets should've begged DMO to stay to play Anderson's starter minutes, at least he isn't afraid of the wolves.

1st quarter- Team is clicking, ball is moving. Harden playing average D at best.
2nd quarter- Lead has increased to 20 points
3rd quarter- Let me Iso real quick... 20 iso's later the lead is diminished.
4th quarter- Harden is shook and overwhelmed and all hell breaks loose.

    Same story with this guy

Great stats, but they don't tell what happens at the end of these losses. That's where hero ball screws us if it doesn't result in points.

Honestly . .. . I would be more panicked but
the Refs literally cost us 2 of the last 4 games

They were not helpful in the others . . . . but in 2 they f*cked us for sure

Gordon just needs to stop handling the ball. I cringe each time he's running pt. as he tends to over dribble way too often which in most cases results in a turnover. He is an extraordinary spot up shooter and decent driver/finisher to the rim. That's his game and he needs to stick to that.

Red speaks truth. We need to get a veteran 3rd pg though. One that’s going to run the offense and hold harden accountable when Cp3 is out.

Look at the players on the roster and on the court... if not Harden and Gordon, who do you want taking shots? Maybe Ariza, but he is somewhat limited (has difficulty driving, defenses key on him when waiting for corner threes). Maybe PJ, but he is a shaky 3pt shooter at best. But Anderson? His confidence is shot. The other guys on the court are Nene, Black, Weber, and last night Green on a trial contract.

What looked like a deep lineup is now being shown for what it is... with CP3, Capela, and M-Bob out, we are now forced to play garbage time players (Weber wasn't even good defensively last night and has no shot at all; Black barely rebounds, doesn't defend, and is a TO machine). Even when Capela, M-Bob, and (if?) CP3 returns, the Rockets need to get at least one or two more playable players (C, PG).

It's one of the most frustrating things to watch when Harden essentially pulls a Toronto T-mac game for multiple stretches in every game.

It's absurd how out of it he is in many offensive half court sets where he crosses the half court line with 12 seconds left on the shot clock and his team is running a half assed offensive set because they are waiting on him.

this is called moving the goal post, just admit you were wrong and the first 3 losses isn't due to anyone ball hogging
