RGV Vipers Complete Trade with Santa Cruz Warriors Edinburg, Texas, December 21, 2017 – Pending physicals, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers have completed a trade with the Santa Cruz Warriors. The Vipers will receive Cleanthony Early and the returning player rights to Elgin Cook in exchange for Winston Shepard and the returning player rights to Markus Kennedy. Cleanthony Early has started in 19 games this season with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 13.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assist. Early played collegiately at Wichita State University after a stint at Sullivan County Community College and was drafted 34th overall by the New York Knicks in the 2014 NBA Draft.
He reminded me a lot of Donte Greene coming out of and while at Wichita State. Guess his career has gone about the same path minus the journeyman NBA stints. Hopefully he develops with our RGV squad.
