I had to look up who that was but then I was like "ah...that guy!". He did a fine job as an Orc. Of course, I'm not an Orc expert so I don't know how Orcs act.

The film was a bit weird for my tastes. I needed to understand how this world came to be (did I miss that explanation when I nodded off a few times?). The production quality seemed high. It didn't feel like it quite worked. It sort of did but then it sort of didn't. I did not like the ending. I was like "is that it?". I did like that wand, though. That f-ing wand kicked major wand ass. Like was said, it was entertaining fluff that could have used more substance.

Will Smith is one of the worst actors. Not surprised.

Um.....Will Smith was fine in the movie. The issues are with the script.

We watched it last night and enjoyed it for the most part.

I agree that it would work well as a series, and I do look forward to what happens in the next one, if there IS one.

Don't pay attention to the 'critics', they are clearly being a-holes en-masse on this one.

Decide for yourself - this is at least as good as most of what comes out in theaters these days, and it could get some legs and grow.

Its a rental. Kind of a modern day Lord of the Rings.

Thought it was a bad movie.

Watching with it with your full attention = bad time.
Having it on in the background as white noise while your attention is on something else = good movie experience.

There’s no way he read this script before accepting his part

Yeah, the trailer kinda turned me off. It's like a cop drama with like aliens or some **** and an annoying special powers girl going through portals and shooting lighting out of her hand or whatever. Too much going on. If you gonna do a cop drama, just do a cop drama.

5/10. OK on Netflix. Not worth a rental. It was hard for me to stay interested.

Will Smith definitely wasn't the problem.

Netflix should focus more on series, less on feature type movies.

Reminded me of an old pen and paper RPG called Shadowrun. Except without the cyberpunk part.

I don't think I wasted my time. Definitely not the worst movie of 2017 like some of the critics are saying. Personally I think even bad scifi/fantasy is still worth it in the end; It's too weird to be boring.

Hopefully they get more bang for their buck next time. The $90 million for Bright wasn't well spent IMO.

apparently they spent a lot of money on the writing talents of Max Landis.

I really liked it, though I come from a place of loving Shadowrun growing up and this certainly had those vibes (as @Chilly_Pete pointed out above). Landis loves to do mashup type stuff, and I would say this is a Shadowrun/Training Day mashup. If you don't go in for a setting of Fantasy in the modern day, this is not going to work for you, but if you come from a place where that is something appealing to you, the movie works well enough. I agree I would love to see it as a series instead (or moving forward) so you can tell more smaller stories in a very cool setting instead of the setting just being an interesting backdrop for a Training Day homage.

I really enjoyed it. It gets an A+ for effort in trying to create a completely different world with orcs, elves, fairies, and such overlayed against societal themes and a solid B for execution. Will Smith basically plays the same character he's been playing since Bad Boys but the movie needed that familiarity as a vehicle to carry the story forward. Hope to see a sequel.

Saw that they're pumping up the soundtrack during the TV ads, like we're supposed to be mesmerized by it? Really? That soundtrack sounded cheesy as hell to me. Made the movie CHEESIER too.
