Daryl Morey: Beating Golden State 'the only thing we think about'

You've got to be kidding me.

I hate that team with a passion. I'm a Socal guy.

But he absolutely has done a marvelous job. No one thought he'd turn that team from Mark Jackson 2nd round team to a contender overnight, not even the hardcore of Bay area fans...not even them.

Kerr's offensive philosophy is as smooth as butter. It's got pop, Phil, and MDA in it.

He absolutely deserves credit. And I hate them.

He did a good job. But they have obviously been the most talented team for 3 years. So ranking as some all time great coach is way premature.

And they lost in the finals in 15-16 because Curry was hurt. It falls apart without him. It's still all about the players

 

I think the argument that you need talent to win in the NBA is a valid one. Whether you develop that talent or sign it. MDA has been with Rockets less than 2 seasons but Clint's jump in productivity is readily apparent. MDA also sees potential in Qi. Development does not happen overnight and not every young player on the roster has the same potential or even fit in MDA system.

What else do you want MDA to do right now??? Unless there's some way he can win us a title in December he's literally doing as great a job as he humanly possible given we're only 1/3 through the season.

I don't think you're gonna find many folks even here that don't think this team can't improve with some roster and rotation tweaks (and oh ya.... HEALTH), and no one but the biggest homers think we would be favored in a series against GSW, but for ****'s sake can we drop the foaming w rage routine from some of y'all??? If you can't sit back on Christmas and at least enjoy the fact the we still have the best record in the entire league then you're missing the point of watching basketball to begin with.

Well seeing as when healthy we have a 9-man roatation your critiques begin to hold less and less water. Add to that the fact that we have a top 8 defense and that capella has absolutely developed into a top 5-7 center in less than 2 seasons under MDA and almost all of your complaints start ringing pretty damn hollow.

Newsflash: there isn't a coach alive better than pops. Another newsflash: this warriors team is one of the greatest ever assembled. How about you gain some damn perspective and let's see what MDA, Morey and the team can do over the last 50 GAMES of the season before you right the whole thing off.

 

MDA/Morey has an 8 man top heavy rotation

Spurs/Pops GSW/Kerr has a 12+ man balanced rotation

thats what allows the Spurs to be 3rd seed without Kawhi

and GSW/Kerr to win 7 straight without 2 of their best players Curry & KD and another starter

while rockets can't beat teams with their superstar scoring 50 pts

I don't mind Kerr. He has his moments of being funny. But if I were media with access to him, I'd throw his humor back at him to test him, to see how realz he is. Sorta like I did here with the breakfast joke repurposed to see how posters who are trying too hard to bash MDA/Morey would take it, and as expected, some got defensive.

We don't really know much how Kerr handles all situations, but something tells me Kerr might be an ex-athlete with a big Ego who might not react well to sarcasm thrown back at him in defeat. Pops and Big Chief Triangle clearly can't handle it. haha. That's because they are active ego builders who feed on the attention that real guys like JVG, Rudy, Daly, Fizdale, Coach K and MDA don't.
