James Harden there's no way around it , this mother****er has got to start playing consistent defense , if not this is going to be another dud year .

Coaching, D'antoni says it'll be fixed in the post-game interview. Put your faith in the Don.

This just shows you how hard it is to win 22 games in a row. I'm amazed how there are still people dismissing that feat, saying that, "Oh, they didn't win in the playoffs." It takes incredible focus and discipline to win night in and night out (in Drexler's voice). Any NBA team can beat you on any given night. It's a test of character, not just talent.

People really don't seem to realize just how well Luc was playing defensively. Folks didn't notice because offense if always at the forefront of peoples minds, but when you lose a near elite defensive weapon like that it hurts.

Also, this team did get too good for the regular season. You can tell yourself to stay focused all you want, but when you are consistently obliterating teams it's difficult to stay disciplined. So they had a falloff in effort..yet they were still beating teams fairly easily. If this were a video game, it would have been the time to up the difficulty level. So naturally when we had some injuries, our talent suddenly wasn't good enough to overcome these lapses.

Injuries, apathy, and a suddenly condensed schedule combined for this falloff. Only one of those things are something that is actually something to be worried about come June.

your defense seems good when you're blowing out opponents by 20 and they just give up.

Our defense has issues and was always likely to show up at some point. The issues is we allow way too many shots at the rim and also allow a decent amount of 3s a game.

You can’t be a great defense and allow the most efficient shots at a decent frequency. They need to force tougher more inefficient shots.

Our defense was really good because with a full healthy team we are good enough defensively to alter these shots but we still allowed them just at a lower efficiency.

Injuries have altered our ability to defend and alter these shots like when we have a full healthy rotation. With so many injuries, law of averages is starting to show up on these shots, which is why we are seeing teams be on fire from deep.

Last season we peaked in the regular season and went on to secure 2nd seed. We were not really ready in the Playoffs.

I sure do not hope this is the case here.

Our winning streak was snapped by two weak teams in the middle of the dropoff of our defense.

Can't blame lack of defense on good individual defenders missing games. Warriors are the top defense in the league and their DPOY has missed a good amount of games recently. It's all about buying into the team defensive gameplan, all of our guys, 1-15, should be able to step in and play good team defense.

thats the difference they have 1-15.. 1 goes out, they still have 1-14

we have 1-8, 3 of our best defenders go out, we have 1-5

GSW & Spurs built a deep 12-15 man rotation offensive & Defensive team

Morey & MDA just 8 man rotation 9 if you count Nene even if he can't play every single game

GSW and SA don't have great individual defenders 1-15. My point is, if we had a better defensive infrastructure in place, then guys should be able to come in who don't usually play and play the same way on defense as the regulars. We are clearly not playing with the same effort and focus on defense lately, it's not because we're not capable.

Yeah its because of the 8 man rotation fatigue and injuries catching up

Against lakers clint n luc was put then paul got injured

Agaisnt clippers all 3 were out

Gsw and spurs have a 12+ man system

    We have 8 man system

Its on mda & morey to improve & expand the rotation

Problem is our best three defenders are all out.

yes our best 3 would be Luc, CP3 and Capela in my opinion.

Ryno is average at best on D, Harden is inconsistent and so is Gordon. Only definite good defenders we have left our Ariza and PJ.
