It ended perfectly despite the down final season. Half the cast moved on when the show ended anyway, idk how this would work
I've read in the past that the cast was actually split about whether or not they wanted the show to end after season nine, and there was some support to continue filming season ten and beyond with things centered around Pete (or "Plop") as the new Jim and Clark as the new Dwight, which are kind of the roles they played in that last season. Perhaps it's been too long for that to be the premise of a new version of the show, but based on the fact that there was already conversation around this, I wouldn't be surprised to see a good number of the old cast come back around, at least in more limited roles.
That would actually be kind of interesting. First episode could be some of Pete/Clark referencing the old cast and what they are doing now, then it could take off from there with a mostly new cast.
Honestly I underestimated how much I missed the Office. Even in it’s last two below average seasons, i’d still rather have it back than gone forever.
so september to last week ...i watched the entire series for the first time. people said oh its going to suck after michael left...but i couldn't stop watching it. i liked the other characters better..like dwight and kevin. i am having serious withdrawal. felt like all i did after coming home from work or while i was traveling the last few months was watch the office.
There was a column in The Hollywood Reporter recently (HERE) that dove into the question of whether or not a revival is a good idea. As much as I selfishly want to see it happen, I can certainly see his viewpoint. What I think he misses, though, and this is to your point about going through withdrawals, is how unique this show was in its ability to truly make you care about every single character on the show. I remember watching the finale back in 2013 and instantly being crushed that we'd no longer get to learn about what is going on in the lives of the people like Kevin, Stanley, Phyllis, Meredith, Oscar, and the rest of the role players on the show. I think fans want that as much as they want anything else from a potential revival. That's also why I think this could be pulled off. If it has the same tone as the original series, and is led by many of the same writers and producers, this isn't a show that needs a strong lead. The ensemble is the strength of the show, not any one individual character, as strong as Michael and Dwight were as characters.
They should revive The Office UK. That was just way too short. Not sure how this would go over in the current climate, but I just want one more appearance of Dirty Berty (I can't remember ever laughing as hard as I did when I first saw this- how the **** did Martin Freeman not lose it? His reactions alone are priceless).
It was a reference to how Michael Scott greeted Karen (Rashida Jones's character) when she first came to work in that office. it's quintessential Michael Scott. He honestly thought he was being kind, welcoming, and a good conversationalist and had no idea that it could be perceived as offensive or awkward in any way.
