    Another update: just got my REG score a while ago and I passed! Definitely made those two months without work worth it. I'm halfway done now!

    One year and 6 months later I finally passed my last section of the CPA exam. Being laid off from that job was probably the best thing to happen in my early career. I don’t think I could have accomplished that while still working there.

    I’m finally done studying!!!!!

    ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!

    I’m currently at a small local firm where they work me half as hard, pay me better and the bonuses are amazing. I think I’m good there for another year or two until the right opportunity comes along to purchase a small tax practice for myself.
