i don't know if d'antoni is like me and just thinks timeouts are boring or if he just sees numbers that say they have no real effect, but several times this year there have been obvious times to call timeouts and he hasn't and then we immediately go on a 5-0 or 6-0 run and get the other team to waste a timeout. pretty impressive to flip a timeout against a team.
It's looking like an entire game where the Rockets do not get hot from 3 for at least one quarter are going to be almost impossible.
so if, after paul jumps in the air and shoots a half-courter, the defender pulls back and doesn't commit the foul, is the official going to just give paul the foul anyway because that's what it looked like was going to happen, or let play continue with the brick that actually happened? don't punish paul for taking the risk and being smart enough to pull it off to get the 3 free throws.
