Of course the dantoni offense, capela, harden, seemingly everyone better etc. But let's take a moment to appreciate cp3 killing opponents 2nd unit. It is a thing of beauty. We begin with the anesthesia - We put in cp3 harden together start game ..we crank the engine. Get going.. Bring in gordon. Then once 2nd unit from opponent comes back in . we bring in cp3 and the actual bloodbath, execution and demoralization starts. Not sure how this might go in playoffs with starters playing more minutes but for now this move by dantoni is pure genius. Not completely overlooked here but this 2nd unit annihilation is a big reason we are winning. Also cp3 is the shi**t Folks this is real
This is why I predicted the Rockets would have an extremely fast start to the season, .because the MDA offense has never been played for 48 minutes, and Paul would pick it up fast, and it would take a longer time for NBA defenses to catch up and adjust to the staggered minutes all48 attack, and most teams would never be able to adjust
We have been most effective with CP3 leading the show. Then we bring Harden back in. The opposition never gets a rest, physically or mentally. It must be very frustrating to play us.
Yeah, against 2nd Units. We could argue, that we are most effective in the 4th Q of close games when they are both in,,,it's just a small sample size. Our ORtg in the 4th Q against POR was something outrageous like 238 in last 5. I bet if you calculate the entire 4th Q of both POR and NOLA, we are 130+...and we all know the Net is outrageous.
Appreciation threads are when things are gone or no more. Cp3 is still murdering 2nd units. Improper use of thread starting privileges.
For the 4th Q of the three close games Paul has played with Harden (GSW, POR, NOP), Rockets are +49 in 36 minutes. And have an ORtg of ~150 to 90 DRtg
This is why Harden CP3 work, and also because both are capable of hitting jump shots and are hall of fame offensive players. But having elite playmaking skills on the court at all times PLUS having a secondary guy like Gordon alongside is what is making this team so unstoppable. You can only have one person dribble at a time, so whenever both Harden and CP3 are on the court it is impossible to get the absolute most out of both of them. That isn't to say they can't still play really well together, but you can't get their absolute best without the ball in their hands. Ton of credit should be given to CP3 for his willingness to try this and to Harden for the same. As well as to D'antoni and Morey for making it work.
People won't love to hear it, but this is the epitome of "taking turns", iso play and just "not playing the game the right way" And also a GOAT offense.
I think something we take for granted, especially in the 4th quarter, is the CP's steals. This guy has to be the GOAT steals guy ever. If you fall asleep for a few seconds, Paul will literally snatch the ball out your hands. I've seen multiple times where the guy turned his head, and Chris slid over and swiped the ball away. This guy is something special
your intentions are very good but you gotta understand and take care of feelings of cf because for many of us it was stressful to see this title because for us it meant the good things are over perhaps if you first created another thread announcing an unorthodox use of appreciation thread it would be ok
