Burden is a strong word. Harden hasn't had tons of starpower, but he's had a more than enough shooters to compliment his game. What happened last year's playoffs was inexcusable. That had nothing to do with any burden. No superstar STARTS the game so tired they only attempt 2 shots in the 1st half, pass up WIDE open shots and keep throwin the ball outta bounds
kobethegreat's back LOL okay so who could have carried the rockets farther last year? or do you think gsw wouldn't have won the championship in 2015 if you replaced curry with harden or 2017 if you replaced kd with harden? or can you rank the best players rockets have after harden?
Yikes. In a way it's funny, but in another way it's very disappointing because these dudes shape the opinions of so many casual fans.
Barkley still bring up old **** about the his owed money, he's like an old man repeating the same crap
As much as it irks me when the refs jerk him around, I think it's helped him because he doesn't seem to be mentally checking out of games like he's done in the past, taking plays off so he can b**** at the ref or just going into chuck mode. He's keeping his focus better.
Westbrook winning the MVP last year allowed OKC to pay him the full amount of his supermax extension and keep him in OKC instead of leaving. Which was their end goal in pushing so hard for it.
I could care less about the opinion of a fat has been critiquing others that they don't know what it takes to win an NBA championship...when he never won a ring himself
Yes, it's extremely easy to see why a fragile guy like Kevin Durant would not even give us a meeting in free agency because of how afraid of media scrutiny he is. He is a extreme example, but I'm sure there are other guys that have this same sentiment on a smaller scale: "Why would I want to go there and get blasted all the time and have to continually answer questions about why I'm not good when I could go to ______ and be left alone or even celebrated for just being on the team (Horford to Boston comes to mind here).
I personally don't care what the TNT crew has to say because I can see for myself that they are wrong. They reject analytics and basic stats, are terrible at player evaluation (CP3 isn't known for his defense?!), and are just old school in their philosophy. But I have no skin in the game, I'm just a fan. I can understand how Morey or the players themselves would be upset because they're the ones working their asses off, then have commentators with no knowledge crap on their efforts.
OMG just saw the Barkley comments video on nba.com...... This man said Harden and Paul are not better than Steph and Klay...... WTF!!!! Paul is getting overlooked now? He was worshipped all his career and now you pair him with the best player in basketball right now and he is just meh good? It pisses me off but also makes this season more enjoyable. And $hit they can do to stop Rockets from winning it all this year...
None of those questions take away from the fact that Harden QUIT. It's not debatable. He may have changed this year, who knows? But last year he laid down against the Spurs. It wasn't about a "burden" or anything you mentioned, he just quit. Stop making excuses for last year
it does unless you don't believe in physical/mental limitations/fatigue/stress/injury in sports so you can't come up with a single player who could have carried the rockets to 55 games last year? so you basically admit harden pretty much dragged the rockets to the impossible last year.. howbout your savior Kobe?
If he claimed that Steph/ Durant were better than Harden/ Paul that's an argument he could actually defend, but Steph/ Klay? That's the kind of stuff that makes me wonder if he even watches basketball.
