    I don't look at Die Hard as a Xmas movie like I do Its a Wonderful Life, I just like watching it during the holidays because it has a Xmas theme and anything that has a Xmas theme seems to be on during the holidays (not to mention its a heck of a movie)

    trading places is more of a christmas movie than die hard and trading places isnt really a christmas movie either...but seems to come on around this time.

    Think of it this way....

    There are comedy Christmas movies.... there are romance Christmas movies... there are heartfelt Christmas movies.... there are children's Christmas movies...

    if there ever was an action Christmas movie......well, that's Die Hard.

    me too - actually, trading places might be my all-time favorite movie. i also think its the best movie about the "american experience" - it touches on so many issues - class, race, money, power, wall street.
