NBA is more popular abroad than the NFL. NBA is becoming more like soccer.

it feels a lot more competitive to me because it isn't a foregone conclusion who will be in the finals this year IMO. last year everybody knew that it would be warriors cavs.

it feels like there is a realistic chance for things to be shaken up in the playoffs this year.

I mean that i can't stare at the teams and immediately know which 8 were going to make the playoffs in the west.............................:::.::::::::::.........

A lot of teams that were good aren't good anymore...............

A lot of teams that were bad aren't bad anymore................

Many teams will be competing for playoff spots that haven't been for a while, on both sides of the bracket..........

I don't feel like it's just the Warriors and the cavs.............neither team is at the top of their conference yet............

The overall statement is true, but that Spurs-Pistons finals was trash, 4-1 gentlemen's sweep if I recall

I feel like this year has more fresh teams.

Nuggets, 76ers, pelicans, pistons, timberwolves are relevant again

OKC is a fun storyline to follow, knicks are fun to watch with KP

Honestly the league has a lot of exciting ish this year compared to last year IMO

NVM, It did go to seven.

Funny how Detroit took part in the least viewed NBA finals ever (2007) and the two least viewed World Series ever (2006, 2012)

Detroit/San Antonio was the 2005 finals, not 2007. It went seven games and was a classic. Robert Horry just added to his legend in game 5.

The NBA has been a superstars league for the last 25-30 years. It's more pronounced now than ever. Anybody who can't see that is blind to the very obvious. You are either in denial because that scenario doesn't suit what you want to believe or density just rules your day.
In contrast, the NFL is more about the jersey (team) than the individual players. With some exceptions, NFL players are much more expendable in the eyes of fans, teams and the players themselves. "Next man up!", "We understand the risks we are taking".

I said on this forum a very long time ago the top 15 players in the NBA are worth more than the next 85. It's remains true. It's about personalities, marketing, shoes, NBA2K and following favorite players in addition to rooting for one's favorite team. The way fans fawn over great NBA players on the road is embarrassing sometimes. Sure enough there must be some measure of competitive balance, but parity has never been a feature associated with the NBA. The Lakers and Celtics have been in 40 of the 70 NBA Finals; played each other 12 times. The Lakers have been 31 times; the Celtics 21 times and no other franchise has 10 appearances. There have also been the Bulls and (so-called) Spurs dynasties. The Warriors are attempting to become the latest version. With 7 straight Finals appearances, LeBron might be his own personal NBA dynasty.

The NFL has some of the same but people are most passionate about their teams. The league has huge problems now that lead me to believe it's facing severe decline without much recourse. IMO, CTE is the most crucial issue facing football. Fans that care about safety and those who celebrate the most brutal aspects of the game create a no-win situation for the NFL. The league's feigned interest in the well-being of players is a joke. It's solely about avoiding legal liability. I also wonder how well the NFL would be doing if it weren't for the fantasy football and gambling ecosystems.

IMO, the NBA has a brighter future compared to the NFL. Both leagues will have to deal with a steep decline in TV revenue eventually. That will be fun to watch.

Now Nba need to get rid of East and West and let the top 16 teams duke it out in the playoffs.

The majority of people that tuned out of the NFL due to protesting don't necessarily strike me as the NBA types.
