If you saved your money, you should be able to have an estate that will allow the government to tax you, it is the American dream. 5.5 million for one person and 11 million for a couple!

Sorry, this wasn't really directed at you specifically, just want to point out how ludicrous the idea that estate tax which affect .2% of the estates in the US is some how in any ways related to vast majority of the people in this country.

 

It's aggravating that my small business pays more taxes than global corporations.

I understand loopholes & investing in professionals to maximize tax burdens, but there's a fundamental unfairness that burns when i see GE, GM, Apple and others pay less than my company does.

Yes, Grassley made a very disjointed comment. Estate tax and people saving/spending have very little correlation. Not that I entirely disagree that Americans tend to waste a lot of money when they should be saving or spending more wisely.

 

That Americans should save more I completely agree with.
