It doesn't prove it, but why would you order someone to make contact with someone you are already in contact with?
Who said that it was Flynn that was attempting to rig the election? Let's see quotes. Don't disappoint me. The only thing I heard about Flynn was that he was a paid agent for another country and didn't report it, that he lied to the Vice President about what he did with the Russians, and that by meeting with the Russians to discuss sanctions he was undermining the existing President of the United States. Let's see those quotes.
Unlike you, Leon Panetta probably has his own brain. He's not also not prone to your wingnut tactics of finding anyone who is a Democrat that might agree with you and then claiming that as some evidence that you're right. This is the proverbial finding the one black guy that doesn't think Trump is a white supremacist and claiming that's proof that he's not. Seriously, did you go to the Breitbart school of internet posting? Do you think anyone with any kind of education doesn't understand your tactics? Maybe you should graduate to something a little more sophisticated. Hey dagger, what is your opinion that the Trump campaign actively sought to undermine the government of the United States? Dagger: But... Leon Panetta! What?
Mueller is building an obstruction of justice case against Trump. Establishing what Trump knew about Flynn’s negotiation with Russia would be key to presenting a charge. I’m also reminded that we still do not know what is in a indictment A regarding Manafort. Tony Podesta?
He should start a jobs thread. Perhaps start looking the “numbers” in 2012 and see if he can notice a pattern.
I'm LOL'ing at how stupid the liberals look in this thread, now that the ABC story has been de-bunked as fake news and poor journalism. We should sticky this thread just to shame the liberals.
Someone is unhinged today. The ABC report was incorrect because the live interview from the report said “candidate Trump” instead of “president elect”. Given the context of the fact that this report was talking about the December call with Kislyak it’s hard to see why people were not just assuming he meant president elect. I know I did at the time. Not really sure how that screw up (albeit a big screw up) takes away anything from a historic day. I mean listen to Trumps own words if you don’t believe me. “Flynn turned on me” Donald J Trump -Dec 1st 2017
Very detailed analysis of Trump - Flynn - Russia, written by legal and national security experts... well worth the read. The Flynn Plea: A Quick and Dirty Analysis https://www.lawfareblog.com/flynn-plea-quick-and-dirty-analysis
The law is pretty clear. If they aren’t authorized members of the government, they cannot undermine US policy or US interest. Discussing sanctions is the key to the whole conversation about Flynn. Of course as a private citizen, or incoming elected official you are able to talk with foreign contacts. It’s undermining the policy that will either get Trump officials indicted or not on the Logan act. However ... The more obvious crime here is conspiracy. Meaning we will violate the Logan act because you did X for us. Quid pro quo. The whole reason Sally Yates went to the White House was to warn that Flynn was subject to blackmail. There was something in those communications that suggested the Russians were operating with him with leverage ... that leverage we will soon find out through testimony.
so Mueller gave Flynn a deal just so he could pull the Logan act on the Trump administration? I highly doubt that is what Mueller is after.
People keep forgetting that Mueller happen because of Trump's appearance of obstruction of justice. Everything else is just extra. We don't know what those extras are.
Actually, *if* Trump left office through resignation or impeachment, and Pence somehow avoided the same, I don't think Pence would have any impact of the government process. Look at what impact Gerald Ford (an much more liked replacement with far greater integrity) had as replacement president. Instead, we would look at the 2020 or more likely the 2024 presidency to have any real impact.
All this is about colluding to fix the election so the fact it's after the election therefore President Trump who is engaging Russia as commander and chief does change the entire context. The fact is there isn't anything explicitly wrong meeting with Russia in his capacity as a cabinet member. We really don't know anything about what is wrong with the meeting and what he said to investigators
