Trace Mayer has an interesting bitcoin investment strategy

    https://www.theinvestorspodcast.com/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-mayer-multiple/

tracking the 200 Day Moving Average, the price at any moment very rarely gets higher than 2.4 times the 200 DMA, so when it does, it's better to wait to buy, because it will soon come down

likewise, it is very rarely below 0.7 of the 200 DMA, so that's a good time to buy before it goes back up (don't wait for it to get below 0.7 because that rarely happens, but if it does get that low, buy more)

right now the multiple is 2.6, which means if you bought your first bitcoin today, you might get spooked when the price likely goes down short term

I've got some stake in Ripple and Monero. True Story: From a circle of friends I ended up becoming friends with one of the Monero Founders in the past few months which got me back into the crypto wagon after a layoff when I originally wanted to get in early 2013.

There's one on stocks, but not on cryptos. I'd be down for one.

Is coinbase supposed to add coins? I didn't know this... how long has this been in the news?

Shorting btc is the ballysiest move ever.

That Discord has become crypto cancer. Nothing left of substance. Gotta find something else; reddit is too slow generally..

Quick, someone give me the run down on USI Tech.

My father in law says he wants to make an investment for my wife in it. Is there anything for us to look out for, or is this just him giving us free money to invest in something?

I've basically purposely avoided Bitcoin, so I know nothing....

Long term, it would be healthy to be some sort of real retracement.

As I type this BTC is at $11,000. :p

Currently my portfolio consists of Monero, LiteCoin, Ripple, IOTA, and ARK. I am looking to pick up some positions in Cardano (ADA) as well.

From the prospective of usability and building the right way ARK and IOTA are really impressive if you do some research on them. Monero I like becuase it's truly anonymous and lot of underground things can be used with it. That's also a double edge sword if they crack down on it, but I see a bright future in these.

For me all of these are long holds for a couple years and I'm not putting too much in them. They have a lot of potential given their direction.

    Crypto breh enlighten!

What are some small value alts that could potentially pop up big? I would like to do some research. I'm a low-risk high-reward type guy.

I made a few scheckles thanks to the exceptionally wise breh @Yung-T talking about Ether before it popped.

I know that's a stupid question in theory but just give me a list of some with maybe potential so maybe I can do some *****-n-gigs analysis.

I hear you. Mine are in school now and I work my own schedule so I do get a little play time these days. I'm still terrible at defense but I can score.

Not to derail the thread, but I need to get back on the wagon. I haven't bought one since 2015 I think and I always pre-ordered. Maybe you will have a chance of winning against me now ;)

You have to use something like Binance or Bittrex which has most of these Alt Coins. Kraken has some that you can do easily with USD but most of them you will have to buy BTC or ETH and transfer into them and then buy the Alts. I have been reading a lot of horror stories or things that worry me about Bittrex so I have been using Binance. I would recommend moving the coins out into a wallet when you get them if you are going to hold for a long time like I am doing.

Also if you go through Binance you can get up and running quick and buy with ETH or BTC where as if you want to buy some of those Alts with USD then you have to go through a whole verification process which sucks and takes forever. In the time it took me to get my account up, verified, and then deposit money. XMR went from 83 to 169 lol

I personally have been buying ETH to transfer and buy Alts only because the transfer is faster and cheaper than BTC right now and every minute counts.

LTC, XMR, & XRP I bought in Kraken.
ARK, IOTA I bought in Binance

So my flow has been recently. Buy ETH on GDAX/Coinbase - Transfer to Binance - Pick the Alt with ETH pairing that I want to buy. Move Alt to their own wallet.

Interesting. I converted my ETH last week to ride the BTC wave from 8.2. But then ETH spiked too and right now it's roughly even. I'm ready to diversify it up.

    https://www.bitsonline.com/gdax-coinbase-add-new-coins/

This article came out last month. Would be a nice boost for anyone already holding onto coins prior to their addition to Coinbase.
