Well I said he did 1 thing at an above average level for his position. Which is pretty obvious... What else am I missing?
so what. thats what he was brought here to do. a team player without headaches or egos. high iq. this just goes back to your preference on players as individuals rather than how they fit on a team that translates to actual winning.
So you agree he only does 1 thing well then? I think 9 times out of 10 I'm fine with Ryan Anderson, but again, if the goal is to dethrone the Warriors, you need to keep trying to get better. To me Anderson still seems like one of the ways you can do it, upgrading the 3 is the other, but Ariza can always bring defense, Anderson's shooting is volatile, albeit improved (so far) with Paul in the lineup.
he does plenty of things well to me as far as playing the game. And w/ the way this team is built as good of a fit as youll probably get for what they need in that role. to you hes one of the ways to do it but have yet to really come up with a viable replacement that actually makes the team better rather then someone who is just a better playing individually. Which again i couldnt care less about bc what really matters is how it translates to team success
If it's not that hard to get him off his game, why aren't teams doing it now and have to wait till the playoffs? The fact is, it's not hard to defend Anderson ALONE. But with Harden and Paul on the floor, it's extremely hard, regular season or playoffs, to keep a close distance on Anderson AND clog the lane to deny penetration by Harden and Paul. That's the whole concept of "floor spacing." I don't think Anderson's problem in the playoffs is because of the defensive attention. He just choked, for lack of a better term, just as Harden choked in some important playoffs games. Let's hope that they all come through in this postseason. In the big picture, it is still a mystery why Anderson shoots well in some situations and not in others. His home-road difference has been well documented. But it seems to have changed in recent games. His regular season-playoffs difference is another one. He shot well in '12 and '15 playoffs but poorly in '10, '11, and '17. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with playing with Chris Paul, as some theorize.
Man, teams rarely gameplan in the regular season. That's just how it is nowadays. Teams just stick to what they do and try to do it the best they can. You'll see it on occasion, but it's rare. Ultimately Ryan Anderson just isn't important enough to gameplan in the regular season.
Not sure if GS has a say in that. What I've observed is that whoever James or CP3 wants to go 1on1, the player he is defending will be the one on the pick and roll. Since GS always switches on PnR ....
uh oh.. the chocolate. The last few games haven't been Ryno's games. There were no Bigs for him to create mismatches. He needs to be more confident in his post moves when there is a mouse in the house.
When you guys come in here and spray your splooge all over this thread, make sure you clean up afterwards..
I feel like Anderson has been pretty swell for us and for it’s but he’s been extremely inconsistent and I yhinkna libabilitu come playoffs time when people are hugging him at the three point line
He is doing a good job. Other guys are getting open because teams have been absolutely glued to him. Soon, the scouting report will change and he will go off, again.
