Rockets’ November offensive efficiency better than any month by modern-era Warriors

The Houston Rockets had themselves quite a November to remember. They went an impressive 12-1 during the month to consolidate the best record in the Western Conference at 17-4.

They did so in absolutely dominant fashion, with their offensive efficiency and point differential better than any single month during the Golden State Warriors’ current three-plus-year run of excellence.

It should come as no surprise to see that the Rockets have been absolutely unstoppable offensively. The combination of James Harden and Mike D’Antoni produced one of the greatest offenses in NBA history last season, and it’s doing so again.

However, they’ve been able to get many more blowouts this year due to their improvement defensively. From 18th last season, they’ve gone up to seventh with the additions of elite defenders in Chris Paul, Luc Mbah a Moute, and P.J. Tucker during the offseason.

Paul’s impact on both ends of the floor has been felt immediately since he returned from an early-season knee injury. The Rockets have had the best offensive and defensive efficiency in the league in the six games he’s played since his return.

As Paul and the rest of the Rockets continue to find a groove playing with one another, it’s not inconceivable to think that they can still improve even further from their already dominant performance in November.

    Truly an unimaginable feat!!

So proud of all of them.

May it be as fantastic a run, equal to that of the great Astros run this past season!!

I'm all aboard on this team's potential for success but remember that our schedule has been relatively weak so far this year - I think 7th or 8th easiest schedule. I would like to see some wins/strong showings against the real contenders - the Warriors, Celts, Spurs, and good defenses like OKC. The opening night game was a solid win but otherwise we haven't had the opportunity to play a real contender who would be in the final playoff rounds.

Teams like San Antonio, Cavs, GSW’s over play the 3-pt shooters for Houston the past two years.

Recently I’ve seen the Rockets adjust and take what the opponents give them.....slash to the rim.

More than just CP3, Harden and Gordon now; Luc MaM, Tucker and Ariza are getting into the mix.

Can’t wait til we play the Spurs with or without Kawhi

I'm split between caring and disregarding because it's f****** November. But it's been fun to watch. We haven't really played anyone worth a damn so we'all see how it goes when the schedule gets tougher.

Roll players are playing excellent right now. They are the key. CP3 and Harden will get it done, in the regular season at least. Keep it up!

There aren't as many good teams as past years it seems. A lot of middle of the road type teams these days.

    So true my friend.

Two arch-nemesis are GSW and Memphis (and we didn’t lose all of those games). Warriors came
back from China sluggish and Grizz lost Conley.

So what, the Rockets have been without CP3 and new guys learning the system.

    Bring on the upper echelon!!

i have to say, seeing ariza or ryno pull down the shot and penetrate has always been "Nails On A Chalkboard" for me. Ariza may have a shot at getting to the rim but Ryno should probly just shoot the contested 3. i know he's hitting his Dirk-shots now but i think that regresses to the mean. i've seen both of them attempt to make the pass off their penetration and really dig that. It'll take time, but we have time, and a Ryno to Capela lob is the kind of secondary or, dare i say, tertiary action that helps you beat good defenses.
