If it's straight up for Ryan Anderson it's a no brainer to make that trade though.

You are assuming that teammates don't impact a player's performance.

Melo's D is still better than Anderson by the way.

the funny thing is melo is on a team that emphasizes defense first so theres no one else to blame on that, but its likely someone elses fault not his

Easy to do that when a guard are the primary playmaker. Viewing this situation in a vacuum will lead to some incorrect assumptions.

I think Melo would be good strictly for pulling even more attention away from harden and CP3

I like guys like Melo who are more offensively versatile but judging from OKC I don't know how'd he fit

If melo would be playing like he is in OKC then hell no.

Anderson is actually a lot better than most people give him credit for. Let's see if he can continue improving his home shooting.

That's true. Melo would pull more attention away from Harden and Paul WHEN HE HAS THE BALL.

This is the potential question with Melo instead of Ryno on the team. When he doesn't have the ball, does he pull the defense like Ryno does? And when he has the ball, will he pass the ball to Harden and Paul because they now get less attention?

This comes back to the question the other thread is asking, Do you want a floor spacing shooter or a guy who commands double team when you already have two other elite play maker? On the surface, an offensive player who commands double team should be a lot more valuable in creating space than a one-dimensional shooter. But a double team is useful only if it is exploited. That means that the one who gets the double team needs to be able to get the ball to the open man. Is Melo that kind of a play maker? (BTW, It took Hakeem many years to understand how to beat the double team by passing to the open guy instead of forcing the play himself.)

The biggest concern with Anderson is that his playoff performance is disastrous, it seems that his body isn't strong enough to endure the increased physicality in the playoffs, and he keeps missing wide open three point shots.

With the acquisition of Luc and Tucker, I hope this issue can be resolved, because we don't rely on Ryno to play heavy minutes, I believe he can give us 25 quality minutes, which is all we need from him.

Nope, because Carmelo would kill this team's chemistry. Look at where OKC is now...even with 3 Stars. I don't even think OKC will start getting it come playoff time. Anderson, although a lesser player than Anthony, is a much better fit for this Rockets team and with CP3 feeding him the ball, he will only get better.

and No, I'm not just a Carmelo hater. I was one of those people who was hoping to trade Anderson for him during the offseason. But now I'm glad it didn't happen.

Lebron could be possible if we somehow shed salary.

Who cares? LeBron is gonna be playing at the 4 next season anyway.

In all seriousness, Ryno has been a beast. Shut up the haters COMPLETELY. Melo, I will give the benefit of the doubt since he's playing next to Russell "Make my teammates worse" Westbrook, but I wouldn't bite at all when the Thunder trade Melo out of desperation later.

I’d still take Carmelo. I blame Donovan, he’s a terrible head coach who has no system like mchale.

Melo with the rockets would be ryno on steroids, we would be truly unstoppable.

Melo is never gonna average 55% from 3s even with help from CP3.

Ryan Anderson is exactly what he is and is doing well for us this year.

The only issue that most people have is his contract, because you could get a bit more depth with a fairer amount.
