I bought some last night. I know it may dip at some point, but will make it a LT play in a perfect world.

With the way it is going right now, it can easily hit 13k+ by the end of the week, a usual 30% correction would still end at 10k minimum. Never seen it that strong, just crazy and with all the news reporting there are thousands of new accounts daily.

Buy some ADA if you want cheap ish that explodes in 2018. No need to drop thousands into it.
Regarding BTC I wouldn't wait for a huge correction, if it comes as expected by the end of the week, we will have really strong support at 10k.

Went all in on $xzc to get a couple znodes. Has worked out so far and znodes haven't launched yet (end of this week/next?). Praying for a $dash like run from them.

Ideally, I need to sell before the correction and buy in again while adding more to it. Do these happen in one day historically or a few days/weeks?

Depends. Earlier ones took a while, but the last one (co-incided with Tether) was pretty quick to rebound.

The important thing is to not be too greedy, you shouldn't have a "just a bit lower before I buy back in" mindset, as it is extremely difficult to predict the correct tops and bottoms. Set a reasonable target to ensure sure you make a profit and don't try to set new records.

Example for the upcoming predicted correction: Let's say people call the top at 13k and a correction towards 10k. Trying to maximize your profits by aiming at those extremes can be pretty dangerous and also go by in a matter of seconds, so set reasonable targets like "sell at 12.5k and buy back in at 10.75".
Maybe you're missing out on a couple of bucks, but that way you won't get burned by a difficult to predict market.

One day I’ll buy you a beer and explain just how far on the edge — or I’ll be broke and you can buy the beer.

Germany right? Love it there. I’ll Come to you :)

Make an account on coinbase. Actually use this referral link and we both get 10 bucks depending on how much you buy in with:

    https://www.coinbase.com/join/59b08e02dacf4d00f5aace08

Create account. Use throwaway email. MAKE SURE TO USE 2FA WITH GOOGLE AUTHENTICATOR FOR BOTH EMAIL AND COINBASE ACCOUNT. I can explain more if you want.

Then create a GDAX account. It is part of the same company with Coinbase.

Get verified on Coinbase. This might take some time, I forget exactly.

Link your bank account for the lowest fees (credit card is faster but charges a higher %).

Buy Eth on GDAX (edit: limit-buy, thanks LongTimeFan). Transfer ETH to exchange, then exchange it to BTC. I recommend Eth because it is much faster.

DM me if you need any help.

Sorry for the triple post, but if anybody else is looking to buy, what I said to @justtxyank will apply.

I'll be happy to help, but I am not sharing investment advice, rather assistance here to help logistics to invest and lower fees for the newcomers. I lost a rather non insignificant amount learning this.

Not saying to buy right now, it had an artifical pump last night and gained nearly 200% at one point, so a dump was bound to happen.

Still, it is my favourite project and probably has the strongest dev team in the whole crypto space. I think there are 70+ PHDs working on it, it is funded by Oxford University and led by many of their successful guys that already developed successful start-ups.

Also, they are led by the former Ethereum CEO and have been working on this for years before showing it to the public, the whole project is based on a solid scientific foundation which addresses the needs in the crypto space.

This is basically a much better version of Ethereum if it pans out, even Vitalik mentioned them having some solutions he is currently struggling with.

Yeah, it was definitely too high to be organic.

I'm waiting to see what happens with my VTC after the halving in a couple weeks, then I'll check that (+ others) to buy in, depending on the TA.

Why are you paying fees on GDAX? Make sure to use Limit-Buy when you place a bid (not Market).

You shouldn't pay fees on ETH or BTC -- there shouldn't be a need for the above, just buy BTC straight from GDAX and transfer to an exchange.

I'm the same way as you BTW -- don't want to give investment advice, chances are I'll be really wrong. Not into coin wars -- if Bitcoin goes up, it should take everyone with it, so we should be hoping for all coins to do well. Won't hate on anyone buying a coin, especially in this market, as odds are they are turning a profit.
