Actually, that is incorrect. I never once said that Trump's comment was racist. This is what I said:

I hold the Navajo Code Talkers in the highest regard. I am studying their history as part of a novel I am writing. They are an overlooked yet vital part of our history, and they deserve to be treated with the utmost respect, not made to feel embarrassed because an infantile (and I apologize to all infants for slighting you) FakePresident holds a ridiculous grudge.

These pictures were all taken at the Bosque Redondo Memorial in Fort Sumner, NM. I have visited this place over 10 times in the last 2 years doing research. What I have learned- truly learned- is how much Native Americans are fiercely proud of their culture, and how being treated with respect is deeply important to them. This last picture is an example on my part- the 2nd one is a memorial in which Native Americans leave behind something as a symbol of them having visited the Bosque. The last picture is of my quarter.

The only thing I had on me was a quarter, so I left it behind- but as I am not Dine (Navajo), I left it outside the circle as my way of showing respect. It's not anything wonderful that I did- the point is that any of us would do that as a sign of respect, especially knowing how important that is to them.

Matter of fact, I videotaped a ceremony that same day but I've never showed anyone. The Navajo representatives ask that no one post videos on the internet of this dance b/c they considered it sacred. I guess that sounded a little odd at the time, but again, if that is important to them, then I have to respect that.

So, that was the source of all my anger- knowing that this White House ceremony is extremely important to many Native Americans and how utterly insensitive Mr. Trump was to all of that.

Do you give a Senator Warren a pass for her cultural appropriation? Wouldn't her actions be offensive to Native Americans?

First of all, someone who is obviously conservative complaining to me about cultural appropriation has got to be one of the most absurd things I've experienced yet.

Second, no, Senator Warren does not get a pass for claiming to have Native American heritage. But you really need to do the research on this entire matter. "Harvard Law School in the 1990s touted Warren, then a professor in Cambridge, as being "Native American." They singled her out, Warren later acknowledged, because she had listed herself as a minority in an Association of American Law Schools directory. Critics note that she had not done that in her student applications and during her time as a teacher at the University of Texas."

So, yes, there's certainly some question of it. But this is not a clear-cut "Elizabeth Warren is lying." If you want to go the equivalency route, how about Donald Trump erroneously claiming that his family was of Swedish origin?

"In his book, "The Art of the Deal," Donald Trump reaffirmed the myth of his family's origins, writing that his father's father came to America "from Sweden as a child."
In reality, Fred Trump's father, Friedrich Trump, immigrated to the United States from the German city of Kallstadt as a teenager in 1885. Blair writes in her biography that Friedrich Trump went on to establish several saloons and hotels that doubled as brothels.

So, do you want to continue to play this ridiculous equivalency game? I don't give a **** about Trump's claim regarding his family origin, nor do I care about Warren's. They're both grey areas that caused very little harm, and it's just silly to argue both.

But, I fully expect you to ignore all this and blow off Trump's actions yesterday. Transparent.

No? These Navajos are invited to the White House, a truly enormous house (my significant other knows a member of Congress who arranged a little tour), with dozens of appropriate places inside and outside where Mr. trump could give out these well deserved awards, and they manage to have the ceremony in front of the portrait of the president most associated with mistreating (and worse) Native Americans? Then trump cracks a "joke" about Pocahontas and it is all coincidence? You can buy that if you like, but I certainly don't. You might consider FB's advice. As for Tallanvor, he enjoys pretending to be Trader_George in D&D, without the sense of humor.

I refuse to dignify any other response that he or Tallanvor contribute to this thread. It's clear where they stand on this, and their bias even on something as obviously wrong as this is embarrassing.

Explain how being conservative should eliminate me from discussing cultural appropriation.

I mean he did point that out, but he was more mocking the scandal itself as being pretty silly all around.

The 'whataboutism" being referred to is your defense of Trump's offensive statement by "whatabout Warren..." Since you knew that, odd you would feign ignorance.

Oh, boy- I said I wouldn't respond any more, but I have to- you have a problem with reading comprehension- saying that something is really absurb is not the equivalent of "you shouldn't speak on this matter."

Anyway, are you being serious? If there is one topic that is ROUTINELY mocked by the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, and numerous other conservative media sites, it's cultural appropriation.

    https://www.conservativereview.com/articles/why-is-cultural-appropriation-a-bad-thing

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/you-cant-steal-a-culture-in-defense-of-cultural-appropriation

    http://conservativeread.com/cultural-appropriation-a-modest-proposal/

(However, to be fair, even I think the cultural appropriation goes too far- see: Jeremy Lin)

That is a very, very minor point.

Of course, you ignore the much more important points, that:

    1. Trump is guilty of this as well- and yes, did benefit economically from that.

    2. Still, after pages and pages of this, what is more important to you than the worst thing that actually did happen is (1) I was angry about it; and (2) what Elizabeth Warren did.

Revealing. And THAT is all I'll say. Comment all you want.

The lack of your comrades defending your absurd takes in this thread is telling.

36 different posters in this thread criticized Trump for his actions, and 7 defended him. As I've continually pointed out, I said nothing about racism, I stated emphatically that this was a completely inappropriate and embarrassing action by the President. And 36 DO agree with me.

Ya got any more incorrect things to say?
