Redick went to Philly because MDA forgot to call him back?

I enjoyed that video. I subscribed to the channel.

I was going to ask what the difference was. 3 or 4 years is a terribly stupid decision point.

If it was at the cost of EG, probably not a good move.

i think the point was that he wanted the fully guaranteed money if it was 3 years he would have gotten paid less.
I forgot the exact deal. But maybe it was something like 24-26 m for 4 years. But last year was none guaranteed. Idk

He said on the video he wanted a long term contract. But that he also wanted to take care of his family.

He wanted to get paid and he did my guess is next year he might be looking for a long term. Probably Brooklyn but if it’s cheap and we have room he would be a nice addition.

Also depends who comes here next year. Maybe Lebron :p haha if he does we would have to make some moves and then add some people. JJ would be a nice addition. Pretty sure tucker, Luc and paul would stay. Who knows.

I believe that is exactly what would have happened.

We always talk about getting this guy or that guy. Half the time it's some guy who just lit us up the night before. We're impulsive and we have wandering eyes. Sometimes we should think of our own players that way, by asking the question in the form of an acquisition: If you could get Eric Gordon instead of J.J. Redick, would you do it? Often, the answer is, hell yes.

I hate when documentaries feel fake. Just say you went to Philly for 23 million and that you'd be an idiot not to take it. Dude is averaging 15 over there... he was obviously worth the deal.

Reddick is really not an upgrade of Gordon. They are both very similar players - great shooting, solid games, and mediocre on D.

Seems to me you could use the money to upgrade the team elsewhere in a more meaningful way.

He's not in any way shape or form better than Eric Gordon.

Clearly long term contract wasn't a deal breaker. Someone rolled a brinks truck up to his house and he took it. 6-8 mil a year for 3 OR 4 years is a pretty fair deal for JJ. But a 23 million dollar year is clearly enough to get him to say my family can deal with it, we'll all live well long after I'm done with pro ball.

Probably gonna rub the SJW crowd the wrong way here but so be it, because the war has gone too far if anyone is feeling sorry for his wife and that woe-is-me act. You, ma'am, and your sponsored existence need to get a grip and show your husband the fullest extent of support when he is presenting himself and his successful career on camera. MOST people know the struggles that come with raising children. MOST people just don't have a breadwinner like JJ making life easier. Come off of that attitude immediately.
