    Go to infowars.com

Then, as all people who use that site, do your best to shove a pen up your nose and into your brain. If that doesn't work out check out breitbart or fox news. You'll find a story on one of those three.

Really? Jesus Christ, are you being purposefully dense?

    OK.

It is obvious to every single person who's been paying attention for the last 2 years that President Trump does not like Elizabeth Warren, period.

Anything President Trump says about Senator Warren.

To make fun of her due to the allegations from 2012, he has referred to her as Pocahontas.

Pocahontas is a revered figure in history.

By equating her with someone he obviously, obviously dislikes a great deal, he is casting Pocahontas in a negative light.

As I said in another thread, it would be the exact same for someone to claim African American heritage anond have Trump say, "Hey, look at Harriet Tubman over there..."- no matter what YOU personally think about it, it is very obvious that black people would take offense to this - b/c they would equate it with Trump using a revered historical figure to slam a political opponent.

But, again, it doesn't surprise me. You probably see nothing wrong with this, and that's fine- at least you have to live with that, not me.

Absolutely ridiculous that there is even a debate on this. Anyone on here who thinks it's appropriate that Trump said this yesterday in that setting is truly pathetic and should basically just be ignored at this point.

you are claiming he insulted a native american hero (he didn't), but even if true, why is that racist? If I said Peter the Great was a moron is that racist?

The type of batshit nonsense you just posted is why trump gets elected. People are fairly tired off this ridiculous bullshit.

I don't think it impugns Pocahontas so much as it commoditizes all Native Americans into this one tiny factoid that there was once one named a Native American (who wasn't even Navajo) named Pocahontas. They're all the same. I call call every Asian Jackie Chan, every Indian Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, every white dude Joe the Plumber, every black guy Snoop Dog. Individuality doesn't matter -- none of these Navajo matter, only the idea of American Indianness. Trump doesn't see any further than that.

so if he had called her Big Chief Warren instead it would of been less racist since its not a specific native american?

What got Trump elected was people that accept and even embrace offensive and demeaning behavior from the very people that lead us. People who voted for him. people that support him. People that defend every offensive thing he does. *This* is the batshit nonsense... not people speaking out against him.

There was no reasonable reason to even bring Warren up. If you can't see that, well, then any discussion as why it was wrong to use an Native American as a tool of derision is beyond your sense of right and wrong.

John Norwood, general secretary of the Alliance of Colonial Era Tribes, told NBC News Trump's use of the name to mock Sen. Elizabeth Warren "smacks of racism."

“The reference is using a historic American Indian figure as a derogatory insult and that’s insulting to all American Indians,” Norwood told the network, adding that Trump should "stop using our historical people of significance as a racial slur against one of his opponents.”

Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye told CNN that the aside was "uncalled for," particularly in that setting.

“This was a day to honor them, and to insert something like that — the word ‘Pocahontas’ as a jab to a senator — you know, that belongs on the campaign trail,” Begaye said, according to Politico. “That doesn’t belong in the room when our war heroes are being honored.”

The National Congress of American Indians, the largest organization of Native American tribes, called it "a slur" in a statement.

"We regret that the President's use of the name Pocahontas as a slur to insult a political adversary is overshadowing the true purpose of today's White House ceremony," said NCAI President Jefferson Keel, a Vietnam War combat veteran.

Your lack of understanding of why Native Americans are offended by this is something that you might want to investigate to broaden your understanding.

I'm perfectly calm. I call out bad behavior as I see fit. Obviously, you think it's OK. That says more about you than me.

They don't give a ****. Which is exactly why they're showing their true colors. At some point, it always comes out. If they're more concerned about my visceral reaction than Trump's comments (b/c if you'll notice, they still haven't said there is anything wrong with what Trump said), then that clearly illustrates they really don't care about how this would bother the Native American community- and if you want to call that racist, then call it racist.

We just disagree about his comment being racist. What does that say about me?

It says that you might want to investigate why Native Americans find his comment racist and investigate a little more to deepen your understanding.
