Let me preface this by saying I adore Clint.. but if we want to try and make a run in the next 1-3 years Deandre definitely gives us a more upside. I think Clint has built up enough value that we may be able to trade him along with our pick to get DeAndre... DeAndre is a Houstonian who loves the city, and may be more motivated to have his best season especially with two lob artist... his rebounding is all time elite level good, and he mans the middle like no one.. Clint obviously could have a better ceiling, but DeAndre would still be better atleast for the next 2 seasons.. Now unless the Cavs throw in the Brooklyn nets pick with a Tristan Thompson(which I doubt) a capela trade would be much better for them.. Would you guys do it?
we'd have to give up quite a bit. second year w/most of these guys on the roster and chemistry at all time high. no.
Having a difficult time wrapping my head around the idea that Andre has more upside if you are comparing him with a 22 yr old. Andre is who he is unlike our boy Cappela who not only can contribute now but will only keep improving in 1-3 yrs. In 3 yrs time, it is not so unreasonable to think that he will be a much better player than Andre then.
lol of course not. Why the hell would we pay some $20m+ who is terrible at FT's at age 29 when his athleticism is imminently going away? Even for Clint and Ryno, this is a terrible time to do it. We don't need to take desperate risks like that.
Capela is our best asset, do u really want to give that up for DJ? We have limited assets, so we better make sure that we’re giving up Clint for somebody who’s actually worth it if we’re trading him.
Jordan isn't that good, you only have to see how much his field goal percentage has dropped without Paul to know that he is over rated
DeAndre is still 29, he should be at his peak.. I credit his offensive inefficiency to playing with out CP3.. and think he will be shooting around 70% with CP3 and Harden, since he has great hands... He has been a virtual iron man, playing virtually all 82 games every year except his rookie year.. His offensive production will be a wash with Capela, but he has been an all defensive player pretty much every year for the last four years, and it would be nice to have a better defensive player manning the middle, at this stage DeAndre is still better then Capela.. But Capela has a much larger upside 2-3 years from now.. We may be able to get more from the trade now that Blake injured, and Clippers would probably want to blow it up, may be get Lou Will back to
1) no 2) this does not deserve its own thread 3) someone else already made a thread saying the exact same thing last week
YES!! But at what price? A lot of extra pennies and hack a DJ every time the game is close? Do you see teams doing that strategy to us now that Clint can now hit is throws? Why get a dump truck if you can use a full size pick up truck that does the same job.
well the fact that the clippers suck doesnt give any reason for teams to hack a jordan. theyre losing already to begin with
