The Warriors had the greatest offense of all time with lots of ball movement and added black hole-tendency Kevin Durant - it seemed to work out for them.
What has given me a lot more confidence going up against them in a playoff series is that we finally have a very good defense to compliment our elite offense. We now have 3 defensive wings to throw at GS instead of just Ariza. Our offense can hang with theirs, but going up against them with a below average defense would’ve been too much to overcome. I think we could finish with a top 5 defense this year. I’m also starting to believe that we could possibly be the 1 seed this year and have HCA against them. It’s still likely that they’ll finish with a better record than us, but I used to have them automatically penciled in as the 1 seed, and now I’m not so sure.
'championship hangover' as Steve Kerr puts it. GSW doesn't seem to be that motivated and their defense has certainly regressed a lot.
They've won 2 of 3 Finals, losing their one because of the stupidity of Draymond, DMo's sweat, and a Bogut injury. They opened this season as the biggest favorite in any American sport EVER. Long-term, they will be the favorite for years to come, assuming they're chemistry remains and they can afford it. Whether or not they would have won with Harden replacing Klay is besides the point. They won anyway. The comment I made was to whether in reality, not operating in a vacuum of player A vs. player B, they could afford to simply do a swap of Klay vs. Harden... which is, in part, what the original post was referencing that got me in this conversation.
so basically as GSW GM and Kerr, you won't trade Klay & fillers for Harden if you had a chance because you're not sure because Harden maybe a blackhole like WB or Melo eventhough you've already seen Harden successful with KD & WB and with CP3 and with Dwight in 2014-15 and as More & MDA. you'll trade Harden for Giannis for sure if Giannis becomes available now GENIUS!!!!
Are you responding to the right guy? When did I say anything about black hole tendency? Here's what I said... I'll bullet point it for you: - Klay ok as #3/#4 offensive option - Klay getting paid less, probably will ultimately take a slight discount - Klay, at least historically, is an A defender - They're completely different kinds of players - You can't build teams in vacuums, ignoring cap, chemistry and fit ... BUT, if you want to talk about ISO type tendency ... In 15/16, his last year with the Thunder, KD was indeed 7th in the league in iso plays, at 3.8 per game. Harden led the league at 6.9. Harden was at 6.8 last year. He's at 7.9 this year thus far. This year KDs at 3.4 a game. Last year he was in the mid 2's. But not sure why one even needs to mentions stats. If you watch basketball, you knew before he joined the Warriors, KD was not the ISO type player that Harden is. Everyone knows this. It just is what it is. But whether or not Harden would "fit" in GSW offensive isn't really relevant to me... which is why I didn't bring that point up...
Reading comprehension FAIL again. Go on... quote me where I said Harden wouldn't fit with GSW because he maybe a blackhole like WB or Melo? Lol. Why do people on this board have a complete inability to respond to the ACTUAL posts people make and instead bring up random straw-men arguments the person they were quoting weren't making? It's not hard. You've quoted me. Just scroll up a bit. Another straw-man argument. What does this have to do with anything posted in this thread? C'mon EINSTEIN!!!!!
At one point there was a slight discussion possible when he started to make his mark as a two-way player with high efficiency numbers. However, it’s way past that and he’s not even the better 3pt shooter anymore nor that much better defender. He was always a great 2nd or 3rd option, but he cannot do anything by himself as the focal point on offense. Great shooter, average defender, that’s it. He’s not even in top 3 or top 5 of SGs.
The biggest thing with him is the early season drop in defensive efficiency. And Harden's improvement there.
Where is he?? Haha Shows clearly why MVP race is Harden vs. Lebron. And outside shot for Giannis and Kyrie.
you're the real EINSTEIN forget about Harden & Paul NOW lets rebuild with Giannis LOL a 3rd overall seeded GSW NOW will pass up a chance on MVP Harden to keep Klay & Nick Young LOL
Klay's still pretty good on-ball defender. Unfortunately, team/help defense is more important these days, and Klay is at best average (probably worse) in that area. Also, most of his shots are catch-and-shoot types coming off the screen, whereas Harden creates his own shot. Doesn't take a genius to figure out who is a more reliable no.1 option.
Anyone who thinks the Warriors will not jump at a chance for a Harden for Thompson swap needs to get their head checked
Your posts are completely useless. I think you're incapable of having an intelligent conversation. When you're ready to be a grown up and start having debates where you actually debate what the other guy is saying instead of making stuff up, completely ignoring the fact that you've just made it up (please, go find quotes of me saying what you attribute to me... you can't because you can't actually have an intelligent debate, because you're useless at it), I'll re-engage.
I think presti offered harden for klay, but warriors said no, but they have 2 rings so it doesn't matter now.
This is not even debatable.... Don't get me wrong, Klay Thompson is without a doubt a fantastic player that I would love to have on our team. That said, Harden quite simply is on another level and there is nothing, judging from what I've seen of Klay so far, that indicates him being able to carry a team the way Harden has. Obviously, Klay is a better shooter and a much better defender, but Harden's other worldly skill set, along with his all time great bball iq, and body control make him more impactful overall than Klay....
yeah trading Harden for Giannis NOW is real intelligent and GSW passing up on Harden NOW to keep Klay and Nick Young is real intelligent of them
