So embarrassing that the Prez brings up his petty battles while meeting with Native Americans. pathetic.

One thing for Trump to make fun of a congress woman. But to insult Native Americans?

    He still has time.

He can probably still wedge in a small pox blanket joke or a reference to the Redskins.

Was he making fun of Warren's age or her claim of heritage? What was he actually "making fun of" while he was there attending a ceremony for Navajo World War II veterans ?

"You were here long before any of us were here. Although, we have a representative in Congress who has been here a long time ... longer than you -- they call her Pocahontas!"

that doesn't even make sense on a contextual syntax level. nobody got the joke except three posters here and a Press Secretary.

    President is basic.

Personally, I completely would have finagled my heritage if I had qualified for free tuition to any college. I missed it by a generation

Of course they are. They are both completely inappropriate things to say in a solemn ceremony and attempt to use a racial stereotype to belittle someone. But I refuse to argue with someone who's even giving a hint of a pass for Trump on this. Pathetic and sad.

I have pulled for every President we've had since I've been able to vote, from Reagan through Obama. For the sake of my country, I always wished them well regardless of the fact that I disagreed with them occasionally on policy.

I want President Trump to fail. I truly want him to fail miserably. My hope is that, somehow, they discover he's done something illegal, and he's impeached. Or that he just quits. I will no longer give him any kind of benefit of the doubt like I tried to do earlier this year. He is a garbage human being.

This is the equivalent of "**** You, Trump!"- but so much better.

    Elizabeth Warren

You might have heard that Donald Trump likes to call me “Pocahontas.” He does it on Twitter, at rallies, and even in official White House meetings.

But today, he stooped to a disgusting low. This afternoon, in the Oval Office, Donald Trump was supposed to be honoring Navajo code talkers – American heroes who helped save the world from fascism and hate during World War II. Instead, Trump stood right next to those Native American war heroes and came after me with another racist slur.

He did this because he thinks that he can bully me and shut me up. He thinks he can bully and silence anybody he wants.

Just to be clear: I learned about my family’s heritage the same way everyone else does – from my parents and grandparents. I never asked for and never got any benefit from it.

But that’s not what any of this is about. Donald Trump doesn’t care about the facts. He ran a campaign that started with racial attacks and then rode the escalator down. This is the very worst of gutter politics.

Every time that Donald Trump calls me “Pocahontas” – and the media goes crazy over it – he’s happy that people are not focused on how he’s trying to cut taxes for billionaires and giant corporations. He’s happy we’re not focused on how he’s trying to gut the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to let big banks and predatory lenders scam ordinary Americans out of billions of dollars.

Donald Trump wants us distracted. But we’re not going to stop standing up for middle class families. We’re not going to stop standing up for consumers.

Let’s show Donald Trump that we’re sick of his racist slurs by getting to work to fight his agenda. Donald Trump can keep attacking my family – but I’m going to keep fighting for yours.

Trump clearly went too far. His comments were extremely insensitive. Even though he had no intention of disparaging Native Americans, it was very inappropriate of him to bring it up.

This is the Boy Scouts speech all over again.

Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye said in a statement that he didn't want to engage in the feud between Warren and Trump. But he acknowledged that "all tribal nations still battle insensitive references to our people."

"The prejudice that Native American people face is an unfortunate historical legacy," he said.

I agree and feel the same. I do not want anyone hurt in the process. But I want this guy to fail so completely that people will never vote for a person like this for a long time.

I can understand people getting tired with over sensitive people. Like a few people have tried to make fun of you In this thread. In some ways it is a valid concern. I’ve heard or read stories from for example different things happening on college campuses that make me cringe.

Trump though is just not good. Simple as that. He is not a good person. He needs to go, and it hopefully happens in an embarrassing, humiliating way.

Believe me, I don't give a fraction of a **** about any of those dumbasses trying to make fun of me. **** 'em. Sometimes, you gotta pull the Howard Beale and do the proverbial, "I'm Mad As Hell and I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore."

It's just that this is EXACTLY what I am studying right now- the Navajo Code Talkers- because in the novel I'm writing, the Native American girl and the detective use the code in a situation with someone trying to kill them.

And it's an amazing book- just great stuff. So, yeah, this completely set me off the wrong way- I admittedly and gladly became unhinged for a few hours today. I'm sick and tired of this neonate POTUS always having to make everything about him. Those men deserved for this to be 100% about them- and now, due to ****face's inane comment, it's all about him.

Trump lies every five minutes to "advance his career". Who the hell is he to question anyone about anything? You should probably care about that. I've never seen someone with less credibility maintain an audience.

I wonder if Barack Obama pulled a Trump move and started calling white men a racist pet name how hilarious it would be to see the reaction from the usual suspects who never care when Trump does it. Of course Obama has way too much class to stoop to Trump's level where you guys live every day.

I thought it was particularly special that they were holding this ceremony underneath a portrait of Andrew Jackson.

Weren’t you going to try and avoid saying “r****d” as often?

Although if you replaced it, the alliteration would be ruined. So there is that.

Trump is a piece of **** and exactly what we deserve. If 4 years of this doesn’t wake this country up, idk what will.

As I said, or at least implied in my post above. I find this funny, especially the woman on the left. More power to her, but it’s still funny.

The thing is though. How the hell did that lead to someone like Trump. And how do those two women justify his idiotic comment during what is highly special day for those men being honored?
