It is rather sad to see that the DNC cannot win this election just like they could not win the special election in Montana. You go up against a pedophile and some rage-aholic who body-slammed a reporter - and you still (likely) lose. Remember when Scott Brown won the special election for Massachusetts' US senate seat - Ted Kennedy's seat? If the DNC can't get this, they may need to fire Perez.
Really? Alabama is something like +20 R. If Moore wins, it is because Social Conservatives voted for a pedophile.
It's more telling that repubs can't find a better canidate than Moore to run in one of the reddest of red States and that the leaders of the party can't force a pedo out of the race.
Says more about the electorate than the candidate. From all indications the Democratic candidate is a decent man who prosecuted pedophiles. Instead the pedophile will get elected? Backward ass Alabama.
RINOs..? ______ Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C), a prominent critic of Moore, described a losing situation for the GOP in the Alabama race, where Moore is slated to face off against Democrat Doug Jones on Dec. 12. “If you think winning with Roy Moore is going to be easy for the Republican Party, you’re mistaken,” Graham said in a message to Trump during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) in his own Sunday show interview stuck to the position that Moore should exit the race, saying he would back a Republican other than Moore if he were an Alabama voter. “I think that'd be better for the country and, you know, the election’s in a few weeks here, or in a couple weeks maybe, and, you know, there is a possibility for folks to do write in candidates, so we’ll see but, no, I think it’d be best if he stepped aside,” Portman told NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Senate Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), have called on Moore to exit the race since The Washington Post first reported the allegations, which include a woman who said she had sexual contact with Moore when she was 14 and he was a man in his 30s. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) took his criticism a step further, calling on Trump to stand with Republican lawmakers urging Moore to step out of the race. "If Moore wins, there will immediately be an ethics investigation and he will be working under a cloud. He is a distraction," Thune told "Fox News Sunday." http://thehill.com/homenews/sunday-talk-shows/361856-trump-draws-criticism-for-position-on-roy-moore
The only possible win for the GOP is pushing the election out, dropping Moore and getting a new GOP candidate. If not, win or lose, it's a loss for the GOP. I think Moore winning probably will do more lasting damage to the GOP then if he lost. Pedo for the win! Like it or not, tribalism is god strong now. You aren't going to win them over. Just let them become more extreme, repulsive and they will shrink in number... or at least the independent will abandon them. Well at least I hope so.
Trump's lack of integrity and cowardice is fully show here in this tweet... Trump ducks saying he NOW supports a child rapist, instead brags about supporting Strange in the primary. PATHETIC!
That's some great spin you got there. It's more a testament to how Republicans will literally vote for anyone with an R next to his/her name. I guarantee, if Hillary Clinton ran as a republican a number of people would vote for her if she got passed the primaries. Hell, the Republicans could elect Hitler if he gave a tax cut to the rich.
Not to further push Godwin's law here, but before he came to power, Hitler's only red flags were: some racist statements and scapegoating (gee whiz), some fiery rhetoric (well, isn't that what we like?), and some mild jail time for radical political activity, (fighting the deep state). He didn't even molest children or anything. So yeah, he could sail through a primary these days.
Things are getting stranger. The Washington post is behind a pay wall so posting the link to this one. http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slat...oore_allegation_by_james_o_keefe_project.html Right-Wing Group Caught Red-Handed Trying to Feed Washington Post a Fake Roy Moore Story The Washington Post has caught a right-wing group run by infamous hoax perpetrator James O’Keefe attempting to feed it a false accusation of sexual abuse against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, the paper reports in a Monday story: In a series of interviews over two weeks, the woman shared a dramatic story about an alleged sexual relationship with Moore in 1992 that led to an abortion when she was 15. ... The Post did not publish an article based on her unsubstantiated account. When Post reporters confronted her with inconsistencies in her story and an Internet posting that raised doubts about her motivations, she insisted that she was not working with any organization that targets journalists. But on Monday morning, Post reporters saw her walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas, an organization that targets the mainstream news media and left-leaning groups. The context of this stunt, for those who have not been following the Moore story closely, is that Moore and his numerous Republican defenders have said that the numerous credible claims of sexual misconduct that have been lodged against him are being falsified by his enemies and spread by a liberal media that cares more about defeating his candidacy than reporting the truth. You should read the entire article if only to reward the Post for its fine work, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t note here that part of the reason that the woman who contacted the newspaper, Jaime Phillips, got caught is because she’d also used her real name to set up a GoFundMe account page announcing her intention to undermine the liberal media: “I’m moving to New York!” the May 29 appeal said. “I’ve accepted a job to work in the conservative media movement to combat the lies and deceipt of the liberal MSM.” Good plan, Jamie Phillips and Project Veritas! It almost worked. (It didn’t.)
Someone check gofundme for @RocketsLegend and his post about accepting a job to move to Russia in order to secretly boost Trump up on the internet.
Moore likely wins. I don’t see the Republican Senators kicking Moore out, since they need his vote. Maybe to save face, the Republican Senators will not allow Moore to caucus with them? They sure do not want to be photographed with him.
