I was at the game so I couldn't listen to the broadcast but is this just a one-off thing because he's experimenting or will D'antoni continue with it?

I think I prefer Ryno starting because he stretches the floor for both Harden and Paul and his defense has gotten better so he can at least hold his own. PJ of course helps anchor the starting line up defense substantially more but he doesn't open the floor like Ryno and their's no pick and pop threat. Also it seemed to me both of them struggled containing Beasley in the first half. Who do you prefer starting?

Ryno was coming off illness so we started Tucker.

I think, honestly, it was a home Ryan experiment.

And Ryan responded off the bench mightily.

We will remember Tucker's defense on Beasley late, but will forget his defense early.

Also, Ryan's defense early struggled, but came on late.

But Ryan came in and sparked the turnaround. Co3 reaaaaally helped his confidence it looked.

Ryan's D was very good late also.

I don't know. If Ariza can shoot well, I think PJ starting can work. Ryno, for some reason, plays with more confidence with CP3 passing him the ball. Ryno played great coming off the bench. I need a couple more games to see if PJ can be the full-time starter.

That doesn't mean he shouldn't be the starter. PJ is strong, thick, but he is only 6'6'.

I don't think Ryan should lose his starting position when we are 15-4. It isn't like we're struggling. He must have put in the work during the off-season, because he's raised his game, in my opinion. Having Tucker coming off the bench, with an occasional start, is a "luxury" we badly needed.

As long as Ryan's defense remains adequate, I see no reason to remove him from the starting lineup. I like the formula of building leads in the 1Q, then holding onto them with our defensive bench units. Plus, keeping the floor spaced should make it easier for James and CP3 to get into a rhythm early.

I like it. I also love that it gives us a second unit containing Paul, Gordon and Anderson. No one, not even the Warriors can compete with that.

Meanwhile our starting unit gets more defensive (are we still a top 10 defensive efficiency?). To surround Harden with Paul, Ariza, Tucker and Capella might actually mask his defense. If that unit can clamp down a bit on the Warriors defensively (which requires chemistry too), then it has plenty of scoring options to compete.

Plus it should also depend on match up. E.g. Ryno should not start against GSW.

Our offense was staggeringly horrible the last two games with PJ in. Unsure of the reason, but 6 points in 5 minutes and 5 points in 7 minutes is about as pathetic as it gets.

That being said, bench unit went off because we had 2 pure scorers on it. I would just rather us not get off to these kinds of starts vs the really good teams.

I think having EGO, Ryno and Luc all coming in with NeNasty keeps great offense power along with defensive minded guys and always having CP3 or Hard.on on the floor makes the most sense.

Yeah, the Rockets got off to awful starts offensively against the Nuggets and Knicks. Sure, they came on strong later and wound up with huge leads against both teams, but you don't wanna have the first 6 minutes be a huge struggle to score. Some opponents are not that easy to recover against(see the home losses to the Sixers and Raptors).

I'd honestly go back to Ryno in the starting lineup.

i thought we started pj last night due to matchups, with beasley and hardaway the starting forwards on the other side. the offense did look crippled, so i'd like to start prince luc instead when ryno comes off the bench.

Against a team like the Warriors, you have to start Ryno right?
