I honestly don't like this legislation
    I think it is ridiculous
*IF* the pictures are STOLEN or taken without knowledge .. . FINE prosecute that
    but
*IF* YOU SENT THE VOLUNTARILY . . . . WELL THAT'S ON YOU!!!

If someone gives you a gift. . . . how they use it is not your business
So you should be careful with the sensitive information
    you give out.

Conditional Gifting is weird to me

It would have been general knowledge if it were today but back then, people didn't air that type of dirty laundry. So again, it's not really that we held people to a higher standard so much as we looked the other way and didn't report their indiscretions.....and nowadays we are looking for any dirt we can find 24/7.

Also, in this instance, we're just talking about affairs a person has after he's been separated from his wife pending the divorce.....not really juicy stuff.

That's not how the law works though. Revenge p*rn is illegal even if it is stuff you were given by the person. Basically there is an implied agreement of confidentiality so legally you can't share the media with anyone without permission. If a woman sends you a nude, you can be imprisoned for a year if you so much as show it to a friend of yours without her permission.

Whether this woman sent the images/videos or was hacked - it is telling of this man's mindset that he is sending out videos of himself masturbating.

Honestly . . .. If we were enforce 'implied agreement' . . . .alot of the sexual harrassment cases would go away
Cause alot of those men felt they had 'implied' agreement from the women

I get what you are saying, but posting or sharing that type of media in order to harm someone IMO is something that should be illegal. I mean, it's just a misdemeanor so we're only talking one year in jail and/or fines and IMO that's fair for the type of awful people who would do such a thing to begin with.

IMO we have to hold people to a higher standard than that. Being a jilted lover is no excuse to air dirty laundry or to distribute private photos or other media of an inherently private nature intended to cause them pain. If you aren't better than that then you deserve to spend some time in jail.

Not if he denies it. His conversation with the woman could just be locker room talk. Just claim it’s not your dong in the pic. Someone could have taken/hacked his phone. You only need to resign if you admit stuff.

For what? Someone else breaking the law? For an affair after he was separated from his wife but before the divorce was finalized?

I mean, exactly what reason would he have to step down?

Is sending a picture of your junk to someone illegal. If yes, he should step down without question. Even if not illegal, it's not what I expect from my elected representative, so I'd hope he'd step down. Your point?

LOL, of course sending a picture of your junk to a girlfriend of yours isn't illegal....even suggesting otherwise is laughable. I know you like to do mental gymnastics in order to push the talking points you've been given, but it's making you look bad.....so just stop.

Barton should resign. He's a hypocrite who has embarrassed not only his district, but the entire state. Another "Bible thumper" that has been talking out of both sides of his mouth. I could care less about the images people post on the internet, but for a guy like Barton, who has always acted "holier than thou," to secretly do this sort of thing tells everyone what kind of man he really is. "Do as I say, not as I do." What an *******.

The party of God and morality strikes again.

They have no shame. Hypocrisy only applies to Dems and liberals.

Just so we're clear here, you are suggesting that dating when you are separated from your wife pending a divorce is immoral? Or is it that you think letting someone you are dating see your dick is immoral? What year do you think this is? What exactly are you saying this person has to be ashamed about? You get how you aren't even making sense right?

Again, I get that partisans like you guys are willing to bend over backwards and make yourself look foolish to push the narratives that you are fed, but c'mon man.

You must have missed the part where he admits to having extramarital affairs with multiple other women and how the affair with this particular woman lasted 5 years.

Barton is a hypocrite, and it's embarrassing that you'd call others foolish while missing significant facts about the story. That's why you're a laughingstock.

I'm pretty impressed that a dude looking like that can have "multiple affairs".

Just amazes me that someone that represents Texas in our government would someone how think it was OK to take a pictures of his junk and send it to someone. And we are not talking about a hormone-driven teenager... but someone in his sixties, someone that presents himself as "a constant defender of conservative ideas and values."

Perhaps it is the real "Trump effect"... as long as he has an "R" next to his name, it is all OK. Moore's OK. Barton's OK.
