This was the first game I've been to this season and it was amazing how late Ehlinger was on most of his cross routes. He just doesn't see the routes very well.
Give Herman one full offseason to work with. I really think he can bring in a solid recruiting class. Oh, and fire Tim Beck.
Only saw the last 4 minutes, had to listen to it when I could on staticky radio. We were driving and in Tech territory with a few minutes to go looking like we had the game wrapped up. Then I park and have to unload the car. Turn on the TV and I see that Tech is now 15 yards away from taking the lead Ridiculous. This loss is a huge deflator going into bowl season. Having a winning regular season would've been good for team morale, but now we're .500. There have been too many last-minute losses that are heart breakers. At least the last seven years have made me numb to it.
Starting redshirt junior offensive linemen McMillion and Cuney look like they’ll be graduating and leaving the team before their elidigibility is up. God help us if Okafor transfers.
Is Herman on the hot seat yet? Or are we still rolling with the "that's not even his final form, wait for more true freshmen next year!" excuse?
One thing we really need to hope for is that Yancy Mcnight is the real deal. He has to get the OL functionally stronger. Our interior just got manhandled this season most notably by Kansas and Tech out of all teams.
Can't wait for Orlando to bolt for a HC job elsewhere and for Herman's butt-buddy Tim Beck to be retained, eliminating all sense of accountability. Herman is just waiting for his buyout, i've been saying this **** since the maryland game.
Herman should've called a timeout. In his presser, he said he felt good about the call and that Ehlinger had been scrambling well enough to tuck it and run if he needed. What I hate about this is that Ehlinger has been awful in those exact situations. We've seen it multiple times this season, not sure why you think it'd change all of a sudden.
I really don’t know if he got better or worse since usc At least they had the salt lick at the stadium That was the best part of the game
There are some small rumblings that a change at OC could happen. I'll remain skeptical until it happens but think a change needs to happen for multiple reasons. There is going to be some major attrition coming up so think Herman needs to consider every option he has to get the program moving as things aren't looking good at the moment. Will post some positives later... Underclassmen Likely Out: Connor Williams - Draft (Edit: Just read he won't play in bowl game) Malik Jefferson - Draft Holton Hil - Draft Michael Dickson - Draft Deshon Elliott - This is a tough call but think he'll declare Terrell Cuney - Graduation Jake McMillon - Graduation Seniors: Poona Ford Armanti Foreman Dorian Leonard Naashon Hughes Jason Hall Lorenzo Joe Andrew Beck Tristen Nickelson Potential Transfers (just my opinion based on rumors and PT): Chris Warren - Official Toneil Carter D'Andre Christmas Devin Duvernay Shane Buechele
Report: Texas RB/H-back Chris Warren III planning to transfer https://www.burntorangenation.com/2...rren-transfer-texas-longhorns-position-change
I think Christmas is definitely gone and Duvernay was passed up on the depth chart so it makes sense for him to transfer as well. I could see Shane staying but planing to graduate early so he can grad transfer next year but he could easily go. I don't know why Carter would transfer except for a problem with the coaching staff. You can probably add Devin's brother Donavan Duvernay (DB) as well. I'm still worried about Okafor given the problems he and Herman had this year (based on comments by Herman and not paid site gossip). Speaking of, this is from Bobby Burton at 247: It's a shame because I think he works a lot better as a Tight End. Dude just can't break free as a RB. He might have a good rest of his career if he transfers some place with a really good line that can create big holes.
Ya Warren was fun to watch when he could break through but he just doesn't have that initial burst to play in this offense and OL, unfortunately the same goes for Porter. But best of luck to him.
