Ehlinger nuts up all the time. This will be the 3rd loss directly attributed to his stupidity in decision making. DD
1 game better than Strong. We need to stop recruiting soft players. These guys aren't competitive enough.
Ehlinger reminds me of Garrett Gilbert, just not all that bright on the field...tries hard but just can't make those quick SMART decisions, he is just terrible at it....in crucial situations.... USC fumbles at the 1 in OT OKstate - tosses a ball right to OKS in OT, when a sack still allows a chip shot tying field goal. Tech - Throws a WTF interception late in the game, when you are protecting a lead Hell there are probably other STUPID plays that cost this team through this year....I know he is a freshman, but some of these plays you learn in FRICKEN JUNIOR HIGH not to do... He just looks like a pampered I can do it on my own player, and IMHO, he needs to get some TOUGH love......IE yelling in his ****ing ear hole when he makes DUMBASS decisions. DD
This is on Herman and Beck. 3rd and 2 in Tech territory with less than 2 minutes and you throw the ball? Hate to be that guy but this was another wasted season. We're gonna lose quite a bit of talent through the draft and attrition and I have absolute zero faith in Beck. I hope Herman learns from Strong and corrects his hiring mistake.
I went to the game tonight and I think I’m officially finished going to DKR until there’s a reason to attend again. It isn’t worth the expense to go sit there and watch mediocre football in between all of the clock stoppages and reviews. The reviews of inconsequential plays (like reviewing whether or not Tech threw a forward or backward incomplete pass when the outcome was always going to be a Tech punt from the back of the end zone) absolutely kill the crowd’s interest in the game. I’m all for doing anything to cut down on these game times. They’re torture. There hasn’t been a single reason to feel good at the end of a season in seven years. Colt got hurt in January 2010 and Texas football still hasn’t regained feeling in its throwing shoulder. I felt like Ehlinger had promise after the USC game, but he has a knack for making the worst throw and the worst time. Tim Beck is a moron for putting him in some of these situations, like throwing on 3rd and 2 tonight. If Herman brings back Beck, he’s putting himself on the hot seat. Not because I think there’s a silver bullet to fixing Texas’ problems (lol 7 years) but because he will have shown a stubbornness that can’t withstand modern football. I’ll never be able to stop watching the games, but it’s going to be for free and at home from here on out until there’s a compelling reason to pay $80 per ticket to watch this team.
It wouldn't surprise me if multiple players transferred away from Texas. And every junior that is even barely on the draft radar will likely bolt for the NFL. Also concerned about recruiting. Just not getting a good vibe from this team, Herman and the overall culture of the program. This goes beyond wins and losses. I'm starting to think that Herman might be in over his head here. And I'm getting a whiff of "snake oil" from him.
He's worse than either of them. When are we going to stop hiring former Nebraska offensive coordinators. Herman should have kept Gilbert..
