A Split From Trump Indicates That Flynn Is Moving to Cooperate With Mueller

Lawyers for Michael T. Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser, notified the president’s legal team in recent days that they could no longer discuss the special counsel’s investigation, according to four people involved in the case — an indication that Mr. Flynn is cooperating with prosecutors or negotiating a deal.

The right will cry about Clinton's 37 emails that were marked retroactively as classified as the biggest corruption case in the history of America, but will attack the Justice Department, the media, the CIA & FBI, Mueller, Comey, the Senate Intelligence Committee before admitting that Trump & Co sold out our country to make a few bucks and get some assistance in winning an election through social media fake news.

At this point it would be easier to tell who didn't lie about meeting the Russians than who did lie.

Trump can still claim he doesn't know anything, but Jr and a whole bunch of the underlings might not be so lucky, unless he pardons everyone. Anyway it is better for everyone, and I do mean everyone if Trump is not kicked out of the office.

Didn't Flynn offer to testify for immunity like 8 months ago?

Flynn is likely not being offered immunity. His plea deal is more likely a reduction in his sentence. Or the plea bargain may center around Flynn’s son.

I wonder if Trump still thinks Flynn is a very good man.

I'm still surprised Flynn hasn't been charged already.

He tried to be sneaky and ask for it with the Senate intel committee and not Mueller. Knowing the Senate probably knew 5% of what Mueller knows and can prosecute.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nb...mittee-rejects-immunity-michael-flynn-n741061

There were many reasons to believe that even in that case Flynn wouldn’t be totally cooperative and would still withhold information. It was important that Mueller has been able to start outside of Flynn with Papadalolous, Gates, Manafort, etc so he builds an accurate mosaic of the totality of what was going on in the Trump campaign to a grand jury and Flynn getting immunity too early would screw up the link in the chain needed to work his way up.

Plus if the Turkey stuff is accurate, his crimes are far too severe to warrant getting full immunity. Maybe a reduced sentence but hell no to immunity. The guy is going to be locked up for years if that part is true.

    just to add more context

the WSJ / you conveniently omitted to mention the Conservative online news site, the Washington Free Beacon

in 2015, the online news site had originally funded the research firm to conduct opposition research on several GOP candidates, including the loud mouth Democrat-turned-GOP presidential candidate, Trump.

Once Trump became the GOP's clear leading candidate, ~ June 2016, the funding stopped. Then the research firm approached
the DNC/clinton campaign about funding more research on the GOP nominee. the opposition research on Trump continued,
leading to the the report by Steele

HIllary personally funnelled Clinton Charity Cash to the Washington Free Beacon to fund the Steele Dossier?

I think it’s more about a reduced sentence for his son, who was also involved, perhaps to a lesser degree, w the Turkey espionage/lobbying

Mueller might be the one who’s ‘draining the swamp’

It is special counsel Robert S. Mueller III whose work seems to be sending shock waves through the capital, by exposing the lucrative work lobbyists from both parties engage in on behalf of foreign interests.

The Mueller probe has already claimed its first K Street casualty: Tony Podesta. His lobbying firm, the Podesta Group, a Washington icon of power and political influence, notified its employees recently that the enterprise is shutting its doors.

Since Mueller was appointed, more people and firms have either filed or amended registrations that make public their work on behalf of foreign interests than had done so over the same time period in each of at least the past 20 years. Lobbyists, lawyers and public relations professionals who work for foreign companies and governments say Mueller’s probe has spooked K Street, and firms are likely to be more careful in their compliance with public disclosure standards.

Mueller is a great American. And Trump & co are fools the way they taunt him. He's so many steps ahead of them. They underestimate a man who has taken down crime syndicates. They have no idea what kind of man they are dealing with, and when the hammer finally falls on Kushner, it will be the most significant event in modern American history.

He just might if the weasel manages to keep from going down himself. I think that Mr. (t)rump will attempt to fire Mueller, eventually. With his bizarre personality, the man won't be able to stop himself, in my opinion. Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre was one of the main events that took Dick down. The consequence was that the Republican support he had up until then evaporated.

Of course, that was a far different Republican Party. It wasn't a hair shy of being a full on extremist cult, like today's GOP, willing to do anything to line their pockets, keep primary opponents backed by the "tea party" at arm's length, and pay back their 1% corporate backers. Firing Mueller would be a disaster for the guy who "works" in the Oval Office from time to time. I doubt if there is a more respected man in Washington than former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who served both Republican and Democratic presidents, and served as Director longer than anyone not named J. Edgar Hoover.
