GOP lawmaker apologizes after photo of his junk is posted online

I wonder if charges are coming against whoever he sent the photo to that shared it. Under both Texas and DC law doing so is illegal.....so pretty stupid on their part if it can be proved who he sent it to.

 

I guess I’m missing some element of this story. Why does he need to apologize? Was he not sending it to someone with whom he had an ongoing intimate relationship?

 

Exactly. They should go after the woman for posting private pictures in hopes of gain. Didn't she try to extort him over the pictures.

 

How old is this person posting the pic? Is it a man? a sixteen year old?

 

The haven't released the identity of the woman yet, but he claims she is a "mature adult woman". I think if it were a child or dude, the media would have jumped all over it.

revenge p*rn is wrong (and illegal) unless it was unsolicited. if he just sent this out to someone who wasnt asking for it than i say its fair game. was this is girlfriend or someone he sent a picture to without them asking first? was he married when he sent this out to someone who i assume was not his wife?

is this guy one of these hypocritical evangelical, nanny-state, moral crusaders who goes around telling others how to live their lives and trying to impose their arbitrary decency standards on others? if so, than i have little sympathy for him.

so he did this while he was separated from his 2nd wife - not divorced yet. he also admitted to having relationships with other women while he was married.

This just seems messed up all around. Seems like he threatened to report her to the Capitol Police for *having* the photographs (ie, before any potential crime was committed) when she got pissed he was cheating with other people too - in other words, he was trying to blackmail her into silence as well. But also, it seems he was sexting with her during committee meetings and other such things. I suspect he ends up not running for reelection next year.

 

This is an open and shut case of a jilted lover illegally putting revenge p*rn online. She should be prosecuted and that's pretty much the end of the story.

Not really. I mean, I know people think that, but trusting the wrong person with a dick pic is nothing compared to banging the wives of CIA agents in the white house and that was one of JFK's favorite pastime activities.

That we once held people to a higher standard is really just an illusion.

 

He should write revenge p*rn legislation. That'll earn him some points for being a hypocrite

 

That legislation already exists in both Texas and Washington DC.

 

This is a non-issue in my eyes. It won't affect him or his political career much at all.
