Basketball Reference has us paying him from 1996 to 2005, though he was only on the Rockets from 1996-1999.

Kind of a running joke on here. Does anyone know what actually happened?

Maloney signed a 7-year deal after the 1997-98 season. In the first year of his deal he averaged 1.4 PPG on 17.9% shooting, and was waived before the start of the next season after we had traded for Steve.

I'm aware of the 7 year contract, but why does information come up from time to time, that the Rockets still owe him money? How long was the payment stretched out for? I hope BimaThug can clarify things.

It was a 7 year 17 M contract which was stretched out at Maloney's request, but I'm not sure what the duration is/was.

Fuzzy on this, but I believe the actual payments on the final 6 years of his deal were stretched out to 12.

    1.4 ppg? On 17.9% shooting?

    That's not a joke?

Sometimes it can be easy to forget how blessed we are to have James Harden

    Carrol Dawson happened..........

Daryl Morey would have Matt Maloney pay us his salary back in dollar bills, Harden would then take that money and recruit players inside the strip clubs.

So the Rockets basically had Lonzo Ball and let him go?

    HORRIBLE GM.

As bad as that contract was it pales in comparison to giving Kelvin Cato a six yr 42 MIL contract

He is balling up scrubs at lifetime fitness. Nba players even the 12th man on the bench are insanely good.
