@Codman If this unhappiness starts to get out of control, do you think there's any chance that PG gets traded before the deadline?

Any team with Steven Adams is going to be good on D. That guy is massively underrated.

I'm sitting here waiting for ESPN's The Jump to talk about OKC's struggles (because at this point my body needs the chronicling of OKC's dysfunction to function). Nothing so far. It's an hour show today first 30 minutes they have ignored it. they are talking about Curry trick shot challenge.. they are clearly trying to fill this show with content..

that's one guy we wish we have, oh well. I think his development is being hindered on that team especially last year being a box out robot so Russ can pad his stats

The standard distribution doesn't work every single time, yet it's the basis for every predictive stat in existence.

PER puts out exactly what it says it does. It's not PER's fault you don't understand what it represents.

I'm kinda torn, they are around the same age, i think Adams might be a better defender, at least a stronger defender. Capela kinda struggled against the Thunder last year in the playoffs.

Capela continues to improve and really has saved the Rockets the last two years. People forget that there was a real question at center after Dwight left.

Having said that, Adams is just such a good defender one on one and in a team concept. We would lose a little offensively with Adams but I think we would likely be a top 5 defense with Adams. He can cover so many mistakes and has great instincts defensively.

You're right in the big picture, but consider how MDA worked with the Lakers, or an even better example - with the Knicks with melo.

Some Players (High IQ) listen to their coach and some (Low IQ - Melo) don't. MDA can work anywhere, but if your main star players don't wan't to play your way, you have no chance.

Who knows, maybe Donovan is trying everything to create a system for that team but Westbrick is like "Nah, ain't doin that" and Melo like "Really? C'mon man"....

Thats why i say that you need high IQ star-players to create good offensive systems.

Yep, he scares the opponent just by his look. Capela in comparison looks like a choir boy. :D

Problem is that Adams doesn't really play above the rim.. Capela is getting more boards this year as well

    I'm sticking with Capela

I also think Melo is best fit in HOU, however that doesnt make him a good fit for HOU. On the contrary, OKC is one of the worst fits for him.

The question is can Melo defer to Harden, CP and even Gordan. Houston really lacks an inside player like Melo who can tear up inside the arc, but I dont think he knows how to pass the ball once it lands in his hands. The defense would converge on him knowing he would never let the ball go. This is OKC's primary problem.

yeah on paper, melo seems like he would be a good fit here but were all assuming he sacrifices so that it actually works. maybe he would, maybe he wouldnt. if melo doesnt adjust to his limitations at this stage of his career, its really hard to tell if a team can maximize his production towards actually winning. okc melo is still alot like ny melo in many ways and thats definitely not a good thing

Westbrook quite simply is not a pg. He needs to focus only on scoring which is what he does best. OKC needs a real pass first guy to run the offense. Right now, WB is deferring to players who arent as good at scoring as he is. I might be speaking too soon, but this team might struggle just to make the playoffs if they stay pat.

    I'll take Capela over Adams.

I think Adams is the better defender but Capela is not bad.

Capela is the better rebounder and offensive player.

And most importantly won't cost 25m a year moving forward.

If your paying Steve freaking Adams 25m a year your screwed.

He's not a top 3 player on a championship team. The thunder really messed up giving him that amount of money.

I'm sure Capela will demand some serious coin but Bigs arnt getting big money unless they have game like embiid, cousins or KAT. Players like Clint will settle in at around 15-16m a year imo.

4/70 is what Clint is worth imo and nothing more.

True we are already paying that to a shooter who doesn’t shoot well half the season.
