In some ways they handled it similarly, they both didn't listen to what the officer told them to do and ended up worse off for it. Now sure, Sandra Bland was just an ******* and the Castille situation was more of a misunderstanding, but in both cases, you don't have an issue if people just do what the officer tells them to.

Again, you actually need to prove that the black people being pulled over for traffic stops are more dangerous, I mean, unless that's what you think.

Hey, you realize the guardian isn't the actual source right? They sourced an actual study lol...

So, you are telling me that even though there isn't 'black' or 'white' way to interact with police, black people are still somehow more likely to get shot and killed by police? Explain.

I really don't. It's lazy to just cite that the incident happened during a traffic stop without breaking it down by what actually caused the escalation. If a wanted murderer has a dead body in the trunk and is pulled over for having a brake light out and it leads to a shooting, do we just list it as a minor traffic stop? The underlying cause was not the minor traffic stop, it was the other factors. Talking about the traffic stop is kind of pointless isn't it?

The larger point remains, when you are comparing dissimilar samples, difference of outcome says little to nothing.

    Cool.

Do what the officer tells you or get shot. Very high standard of policing.

When you are carrying a weapon, yes, do with the officer tells you or get shot. Should be common sense and it's one of the reasons why I have no interest in carrying a handgun.

If you are not carrying a weapon, do what the officer tells you to do, or get arrested.....and then if you are a crazy b****, you can hang yourself in your prison cell because no one cared enough about you to bail you out this time.

You're telling me that there are other unexplained variables. You're trying to take the lazy way out by just showing high level data, without considering other factors that could impact it. It's very lazy to just assume that a person's skin color is the reason.

You are bringing forward imaginary what if situations lol.

"What if...the guy had a body in the trunk and then the cop saw a few grenades in his passenger seat and and...."

No, talking about the traffic stop isn't pointless. You claimed that the murder rate has to do with the higher rate of police shootings, the problem is this. Not all police shootings are due to police chasing murderers. Did you factor that into your 'equation'? No, you did not. Did you also factor into your equation that black people are more likely to be exonerated for murders in the first place, 50% exonerations for murder while being 13% of the population.

Hey, I can play the bobby game too!

"What if the cop chasing the black 'murderer' wasn't really a murderer, but a suspect falsely identified as the murderer because he was black?"

What are the other unexplained variables? Especially since we have so much data of systemic racism on varying things, what makes you think this is somehow different?

I'm not, I'm explaining factors that lead to traffic stops escalating into a more serious incident. I'm sure you think that the police shootings that stem from traffic stops are just the cop deciding to murder someone, but that's ridiculous.

The larger point is that you are trying to compare outcomes of two dissimilar samples and suggesting that they should be equal. I've pointed out many times that the more rational explanations for why black people are seemingly over represented in police shootings is due to that group being over represented when it comes to certain violent crimes such as murder, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, and illegal weapons possession. Those who commit those crimes are more likely to have negative interactions with police thus groups that commit those crimes at disproportional rates will end up with disproportional numbers of negative police interactions.

It's common sense stuff, but it kills the racism boogie man narrative so it can't be accepted.

    1) Do blacks and whites treat police the same way in their interactions
    2) Do blacks find themselves in interactions with police more often than whites?

Either of those two unanswered questions blow your "proof" to bits.

Don’t over analyze it. I asked if this specific stereotype is at play in the sentencing differential for black people but not other minorities. So please stay on topic.

Traffic stops can also simply be traffic stops.

I think the larger point is that you don't understand how statistics work and how studies are done and are instead clearly choosing a more irrational POV.

Well, at least you admitted that black people are overrepresented, at first you said they were not.

You have yet to prove that the reason they are overrepresented is because of their overrepresentation of violent crime. You won't even factor in the fact that they are also overrepresented when it comes to exonerations.

This is common sense stuff, and racial relations will always be as bad as they are because some people no matter what (Just like how whites thought blacks were treated fairly pre-50s) because people ignore basic facts.

    Yes or no.

Yes - there are racist cops. These racist cops can be either black, white, hispanic or asian.

Sorry, but your "proof" is really insufficient. You're simply trying to fit incomplete data to the narrative you want to push.

Yes, and I said there were several others.

You just said "Nah, I don't think that's how it goes" and provided nothing much else beyond that tbh.

So, there are racist cops. We are getting somewhere, although the usual "ALL SIDES" conservatism comes up again.

My proof is exactly what I claimed it would be. You have provided 0 proof for your argument, just your feelings on the matter.

Sorry, your proof is woefully insufficient. If you can't realize that, then I'm done with you and you're simply trolling or too dense to understand. Neither are good.

Sure, but when traffic stops are just traffic stops, it's very unlikely for things to escalate to the point of a shooting.

What I said is that they are seemingly over represented, when you factor in all of the differences when it comes to crime rate, you'd expect the numbers to be even higher if things were truly equal. Like I said though, I know that you want to blame everything on the racism boogie man which is why you won't see reason and that's fine. I understand that this type of thing is almost a religion to some.

Kap - "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,"

No one cares that a Black QB making millions is complaining about oppression of black people? Kap 'aint no Jackie Robinson that's for sure. Kap's like a worn out, stupid, trashy, hoodrat, version of Jackie Robinson. Okay I appreciate his effort but damn, his attempt and execution was downright awful and pathetic.
